@PeterAriz Bad info. The judge allowed Mensah to register with the portal, but expressly held that he cannot enroll or play football at another school until there are further hearings on the merits. The issue is currently set to be heard in early February but may get delayed again.

This whole thing is going to be so embarrassing for Duke and the Manny Diaz-led operation.

Been saying for some time that Moise Bombito’s transfer was the bar setter for Malanda’s transfer value. This sale of Malanda is potentially the largest outgoing transfer fee for a CB in MLS history. Incredible business getting these numbers for Malanda and Agyemang this window.

@itscalebadams @thatVulcan17 Does it make a difference if it is a loan with a future obligation (contingent option) to buy. Which looks like what was reported? Maybe transfer fee doesn’t hit until end of loan?

If the Club is trying to bring Biel back on a TAM deal, not really sure how they can finagle that with that 3.5 mill fee... Will be very interesting to keep an eye on his designation. I think we only saw a glimpse of Biel's potential in Charlotte. A full preseason under Dean, and playing in his natural position I think will make a huge difference now that he's gotten some reps in the league. I think it would be an absolute steal if he signs on TAM but I just don't see how that could be possible with the fee. Biel playing behind a full front 3 of DPs could very well take the team to that next level. Preseason is already around the corner so I'd expect transfer rumors to start heating up here for The Crown.

BREAKING: Charlotte FC have selected Clemson center back Hamady Diop with the No. 1 selection at the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. Charlotte traded up to acquire the pick from St. Louis City for up to $450k GAM. Diop is a GA signing, meaning he won't count against CLT's cap.
