Three seasons in a row, three different NSU quarterbacks led the conference in passing: Andy Feterl (1994), Steve Newman (1995) and Tom Ramerth (1996). Two of the most famous job applicants for the Wolves'. head football coach were former NFL coaches Lou Saban (1921-2009, second cousin of Nick Saban) and Jerry Glanville. Saban (95-99-7 in 16 seasons as a pro coach) had his best years with Buffalo coaching O.J. Simpson and is in the Bills Hall of Fame. Glanville (60-69 in nine NFL seasons with four playoff appearances) was famous for leaving tickets for Elvis Presley at the will-call window in games he coached.
