@CormStrikeFan I wonder if he did that on purpose seeing as the fact it’s a trailer has been confirmed 😅

Harry Potter World Report@HPNews_Germany

👀Nick Frost (Hagrid) for HBO #HarryPotter quietly edited his post description. It previously read: "This is gonna be great. Hold tight, trailer incoming tomorrow" and now simply says: "This is gonna be great. Hold tight, tomorrow" The word "trailer" has been removed! 🤔 Were the cast not allowed to confirm a trailer? Or have the plans changed? 👀

I can’t process this. The colours, the textures. The world feels lived-in. It’s already portraying a very different vision of this world from the films. I’m loving it. #HarryPotterHBO

@jk_rowling @NotHackingIt “Parroting”? You couldn’t possibly be suggesting those celebrities have never mustered up an independent thought of their own and instead merely follow the latest trends, could you? 🤭

And it will forever be appalling to me that a bunch of celebrities with influence over young people used their platforms to amplify unevidenced claims for the benefit of transitioning minors while smearing those urging caution as bigots.

@jk_rowling It will forever be amazing to me that people with medical degrees got in front of a camera and said that the effects of puberty blockers on children and adolescents are fully reversible. The horror.

@jk_rowling It’s astounding how caution became a supposed dog-whistle and risk became an egalitarian virtue.

I was on my way home from a Jungian masterclass yesterday when listening to this podcast. @kenzjones93 mentions a quote from The Running Grave: “Yet she was scared. She doubted she’d ever be able to communicate to Strike – her touchstone, the person who was keeping her sane – just how intimidating the atmosphere was at Chapman Farm, how frightening it was to know you were surrounded by willing accomplices, or how unnerved she now felt at the prospect of the Retreat Rooms.” In this masterclass we’re discussing Jung’s Red Book and watching Murray Stein’s seminar on it. Coincidentally he mentioned the touch stone that day. It’s a black basanite stone jewellers use to scratch gold, and check with a chemical if it’s real or fool’s gold. The psychological or spiritual process of testing the soul’s gold (have you become whole or is your ego inflated?) is very a prominent concept in Jung’s work. So there’s your Jungian alchemy link for this Sunday 😋

Honestly, the number of 'Can't the disabled man stay at home and live a less full life in case his disability offends others?' takes I've read from people who probably think they're progressive and kind today is fucking mind-blowing.

@JournalismSEEN @BBCBreakfast I’m so fed up with this “Equalities Act” nonsense. It’s so omnipresent amongst politicians that it makes you wonder if they do not sincerely want to install an Orwellian climate of “everyone’s equal, but some people are more equal than others”.

@implausibleblog This would be impressive if “the Equalities Act” existed and was not a misrepresentation of the Equality Act 2010. “Equality” because everyone is equal under the law, not “equalities” because some people are more equal than other…

The Green Party's Caroline Lucas humiliates Reform UK's Zia Yusuf on #Newsnight "Your position is utterly incoherent" "You have provided no evidence that it's the Equalities Act that discriminates against white working class boys" "And when it comes to the wider issue of taking your word on anything you've said, it seems to be a muddled message" "When you said something about Robert Jenrick a few years ago, we are not to take it seriously, whereas now we are to take you seriously" "We've got Reform UK's Suella Braverman ripping up the Equalities Act" "We've got Richard Tice suggesting people will end up with far more expensive energy bills because he wants to go drilling in the north sea rather than using renewable energy" "Reform UK pretends to be an insurgent party, an anti establishment anti elite party, yet it's stuffed full of old Tory retreads" "It just doesn't add up" "People looking at this press conference this afternoon are going to feel that Reform UK doesn't know what its doing" "The interesting thing of course was Nigel Farage was trying to present the other spokespeople as a way of saying that it's no longer just about me, its' about all of us" "All of you were asked by the press 25 questions, and Nigel Farage answered all of them"

@IrisThinksMeh @HuskSenpai @kendalljayyzhxu There’s also the ambiguity of “I enter a room with 50 people” which could either mean “I enter a room with 50 people in it” or “I and 50 other people enter a room”. In the latter case, there could be any number of people already in the room.

So, random quick post of the day. Other people have spotted it as well: in Troubled Blood there's mention of astrologer Evangeline Adams, and her book Your Place In The Sun. (I love the mention of Sun, because some of us, me included, see Robin as silver and Cormoran as Gold when read through astrology or alchemy symbolisms.) One of her clients is said to have been Joseph Campbell (mythologist and one of the first writers publishing about of the Hero's Journey in A Hero with a Thousands Faces). She was arrested and tried for fortune telling, and worked on several books with English occultist Aleister Crowley. I would love some more occult themes in a Strike novel, but this could very well be a coincidence. Right? #SleepTightEvangeline #CormoranStrike #RobertGalbraith #JKRowling
