The only argument is Baines gets too much hate, which your statement here proves. When Baines retired in 2001, he was one of eleven players in MLB history to record 2800+ hits, 350+ home runs, and 1600+ RBI. Out of those eleven, only Babe Ruth had fewer plate appearances. Baines had a career few other players in MLB history had. Yes, he played a long time. If that were easy, everyone would do it. It is not though. Which is why he was able to put up career numbers that few other players have. Yes, he is the worst player on this list. No, that is nothing to be embarrassed by and definitely does not mean he should not be in Cooperstown.
