NEW: Delta is making moves for a Delta One business class lounge in Minneapolis (@mspairport), public documents show. They’ve identified a 20K square foot space in Concourse G (near the new G Sky Club). Still veeeery early - probably years away. Kudos @JKealing for flagging

@Mike_Villafana @kpottermn @mspairport This new lounge is supposed to be more on top of G1-G6 area, not down by the newer G SkyClub.

@kpottermn @mspairport @JKealing Kyle, do you really think BC passengers with gates at the end of F are going to walk all the way to the end of G and then back to F? Or do you think DL is going to put most/all of these international flights near the end of G?

The promised @Delta One Lounge at @mspairport is moving one step closer to reality. The airport has identified a 20k square foot space above the G Concourse for a location and is about to spend $1 million to evaluate its structural soundness and build out costs. cc @kpottermn

@plattMSP @Delta @mspairport @kpottermn Yeah, I don’t think the big growth plans are at all likely. But I do think some of the older structures will wind up being addressed.

@JKealing @Delta @mspairport @kpottermn I think most of the facilities risk is on the downside. All of DL's ambitions are in other markets. Sun Country is not getting any bigger here, and likely smaller. The ULCCs are waning. Unless WN/UA want to build up for some reason, you might not need two terminals in time.

@JKealing @Delta @mspairport @kpottermn E/F structures are 65 yo. Everything has been so heavily worked over that much of it is much newer, but perhaps?

@plattMSP @Delta @mspairport @kpottermn Yep. They plan to do the same with the E/D/C concourses as well. I admit though that one of them is due much before the other. I gather from their long term plan that E/F (the old Red/Blue concourses) are approaching end of life.

@plattMSP @Delta @mspairport @kpottermn The plan in the medium term is tear down all of F and then merge it into and align it with G, which I imagine will necessarily mean rebuilding that whole node.

@plattMSP @Delta @mspairport @kpottermn Agreed. It’s the logical, if inconvenient spot, especially considering the long-term plan has them redoing that whole area to replace the F concourse. I imagine that’s part of the $1M price tag too.

Sounds like an Air Canada regional jet collided with a LGA airport fire truck.

@MosheYehuda I mean I’m not there. But on the tape the controller says “JAZZ 646 I see you collided with a vehicle.” And the fire truck he was telling to stop was crossing RWY 4 at Delta, while the Frontier is nowhere near Delta. So maybe, but the ATC recording suggests it’s Jazz/Air Canada.

@stevestgermain Pilots often will say that they plan for a go around on every flights. It’s the landing that should be optional until the last minute. Glad you’re in good and experience hands!
