But they have built self sustaining communities for decades - their own bakeries, technology stores, schools - as self preservation. Jews and non Jews can live in these communities. 3. It is NOT a community of people "studying Torah" and defrauding the American taxpayer. I literally did not meet 1 person who just "studies" and doesn't have a job. People have normal businesses, work normal jobs. 4. They have a lot of kids, not as some big Welfare scam, but because they literally follow the Torah. "Be fruitful and multiply." 5. They are not racist. They just simply don't talk to outsiders much. They are very private and quiet. And they just want to be left alone. 6. There is a lot of poverty because of a mix of culture, religion and very large families. But they literally support one another with mutual aid. What do you mean “expose all the fraud”? We should be encouraging big families. The birth rate in this country is in free fall. The Orthodox Jewish community alone contributes billions in economic activity and tax revenue at both the state and federal level. In many upstate areas, families are paying $15,000–$25,000 a year in property taxes, most of which goes to public schools their kids don’t even attend because they pay for private education. Should people work and contribute? Absolutely. But shaming a religious community for living by Old Testament values and having large families is disgusting. And let’s be clear about actual fraud. What happened in Minneapolis was real fraud—daycares with no children, schools that were basically ghost operations, billions stolen and funneled overseas, including to Somalia and even Al-Shabab. These two things are not comparable. Not even close.
