Deeply honoured to be have inducted into the Kanai Chieftanship as an Honourary Chief of the Blood Nation of the Blackfoot Confederacy. A truly meaningful recognition of the work I did with First Nations to create economic opportunity in the spirit of “reconciliaction!”

What the Islamic Republic of Iran is doing right now and has been doing for 47 years violates every precept of international law, acting in utter disregard for other nations' sovereignty, attacking civilians and infrastructure at will and fomenting pogroms against Syrians, Yemenis, Kurds, Baloch, Avazis, Kurds, and Bahai'i people. Also women.

What Israel is doing in the Middle East right now violates every precept of international law. It is acting with utter disregard for other nations’ sovereignty, attacking civilians and infrastructure at will, and allowing pogroms against Palestinians. Where is Canada’s voice??

There's a real possibility that we've reached the turning point in the Ukraine war. Ukraine is: 1. Taking back territory. 2. Outgunning Russia in deep strikes. 3. Manufacturing it's own Tomahawk-class cruise missiles (with Europe's help). 4. Killing Russian soldiers faster than Putin can replace them. There is still a lot of war ahead, unfortunately. And factors like the surging price of oil help Putin. But the tide appears to be turning. Ukraine will grow stronger every month as its modern drone and missile capabilities continue to grow. Putin should sue for peace. The deal he'll be able to get will just get worse and worse from here.
Anton Gerashchenko@Gerashchenko_en

Global attention is focused on the Persian Gulf. But we have news too. March 2026 became the first month when, in terms of deep strikes, Ukraine reached parity with Russia. The average number of long-range kamikaze drones launched by Ukraine has significantly increased, while the average number of Russian strike drones launched against Ukraine has currently dropped to 90–110 per day. Experts offer various possible reasons for this decrease: ▪️ drone production in Russia was not fully localized and partially depended on Iran; ▪️ logistics routes have become longer, and Iran itself now needs drones; ▪️ Ukraine is partially hitting production sites and factories; ▪️ possibly, Russia is stockpiling drones, perhaps for hybrid provocations in other regions; ▪️ it is also likely that Russia has started supplying drones to Iran. By spring, Ukraine has significantly increased strikes on Russia using long-range kamikaze drones. For example: on the night of March 18, Russia officially claimed to have "shot down" 238 drones; however, some of them struck a chemical plant in Stavropol Krai and an electronics facility in Sevastopol. Ukraine has also expanded its operational range: over 1,500 km. Russians have openly expressed concern about the security of military infrastructure in the Urals. Ukraine has increased and continues to increase both the production and variety of drones. Moscow has been declared a target: from March 14 to 17, Russia reported about 250 drones in the Moscow air defense zone. 📹: Ukrainian Defenders destroying Russian air defense systems in Bryansk region of Russia

China Is Repeating the Soviet Union’s Fatal Mistake Its economy looks strong on paper: a record $1.2 trillion trade surplus, dominance in EVs, solar, and shipbuilding. But the foundation is cracking. Its share of global GDP peaked at 18.5% in 2021—now down to 16.5% in 2025. Its economy has fallen from ~75% of the U.S. to under two-thirds. Why? Because Beijing shifted from wealth creation to state-driven tech and military expansion. Many of these sectors aren’t profitable. EV and solar industries are locked in brutal price wars. Chips and defense rely on massive subsidies. Meanwhile, real wealth creators are shrinking. This is the Soviet playbook: prioritize power over profit. It looked strong until it collapsed. Economics is simple: wealth first, strategy second. China reversed it. And now the cracks are showing.

Amazing to see Israel micro targeting the Basij and other elements of the Islamic Republic’s system of repression, thanks to tips provided by ordinary Iranians. “Israel is chasing security forces from their headquarters to muster points then on to hideouts under bridges in an effort to disrupt their activity and show Iranians that the enforcers are being taken out.”

Germans, after shutting down their perfectly fine nuclear power plants, they wanted to replace with Russian gas first, which then a few years later they wanted to replace with LNG shipments from Qatar. But who needs an industry, right?

Good to see, @VictorFedeli ! The fur industry is the oldest industry in Canada, especially in indigenous communities. It’s overwhelmingly run by and for indigenous people. The most common obligations in the various treaties signed between the Crown and First Nations is the right to hunt, fish, and *trap* on traditional territories. It’s part of the identity and culture of indigenous people, and therefore of Canada. Which is why it’s great to see that the urban left’s effort to kill the industry has failed!

Congratulations to North Bay’s Fur Harvesters Auction Inc. on their greatest annual auction ever! As the world's last-remaining wild fur auction house, their gavel came down with double and triple prices over last year's averages, with many furs setting all-time records. The city also played host to record crowds of buyers from around the world, who came to see the furs in person.

“It’s not enough for Mr. Carney to sign the pipeline memorandum and leave it at that. More needs to be done to create the conditions to get the private sector to the table and start building, so Mr. Carney can achieve his stated goal of turning Canada into an energy superpower. The spike in oil prices due to the war in the Middle East is a reminder about the continued critical role of the energy sector.” theglobeandmail.com/gift/2d737d3a9…

Daphni Monastery (11th century) is one of my favorite Byzantine churches - widely regarded as one of the most refined examples of Greek/Byzantine architecture. Nothing feels excessive, everything is used in just the right amount, a very tasteful and complete look. Compared to Hagia Sophia, it avoids the rougher, more monumental feel. Daphni comes across as more refined, with an emphasis on calm and harmony rather than scale.

The Islamic Republic is living inside its collapse plan. That is not evidence of resilience. It is evidence that the system is collapsing. What many observers read as signs of endurance, continued missile fire, street repression, state broadcasting, leadership succession, and other visible signs of continuity, do not show a regime that has absorbed the shock. They show a regime falling back on the emergency mechanisms it built for the moment its center was hit and its command structure began to fracture. This is not strength. It is a collapsing system trying to survive long enough for Washington to lose patience. Read more: parpanchi.substack.com/p/what-looks-l…

Speaking to the Jewish community in Rome, Pope John Paul II made crystal clear the teaching of the Catholic Church on 1) the brotherhood of Jews and Christians; 2) the sinfulness of anti-Jewish hatred and prejudice; and 3) the irrevocability of God's covenant with the Jewish people: "The Jewish religion is not 'extrinsic' to us, but in a certain way is 'intrinsic' to our own religion. With Judaism therefore we have a relationship which we do not have with any other religion. You are our dearly beloved brothers and, in a certain way, you are our elder brothers. On the basis of this brotherhood renewed by Christ, the Church rejects every form of discrimination and anti-Semitism. She condemns them as contrary to the very spirit of Christianity. She deplores all hatred, persecutions, displays of anti-Semitism directed against the Jews at any time and by anyone.... The covenant between God and the Jewish people has never been revoked. 'The gifts and the call of God are irrevocable' (Rom 11:29).

It's grotesque how American political culture turns absolutely everything (TV shows, hobbies, religion, other countries, etc.) into fodder for an endless Schmittian political trench war. Canada is designated "left". Therefore, American conservatives must performatively hate everything about Canada while American liberals must performatively praise everything about it. Neither view Canada as a real place with real people, but just a political theme park. It's either the Disney Castle or the Haunted Mansion depending on their ideology. Obviously, the reality of Canada doesn't reflect either of these cartoonish hyperreal images. However, this serves as the axiom for most political discourse on the country. It has gotten to the point that Canadians now view their own country through this distorted Americanized lens.

Without US-Israeli leadership, all of Europe would have ended up living under the threat of Iranian nuclear annihilation, armed with long range ballistic missiles. A threat controlled by jihadi fundamentalists who believe it is their religious obligation to accelerate the apocalypse. Like Europe’s elites in the face of Hitler’s massive military expansion in the 1930s, today’s appeasers would continue to look the other way and mumble about diplomacy until it’s too late. Europe failed to protect its Jews from Hitler. But now the descendants of the Jews who survived Hitler are protecting Europe. #AmYisraelChai
