Government grows like a cancer. It is very slow growth over time that slowly claws away at money and rights. It eventually morphed into a system based on bribes and horse trading, which is exactly what the legislative branch wanted. That makes it easier for them to retain their seats for as long as they want the job. Term limits and a removal of lifetime benefits would go a long way towards fixing this, but sadly the people who got it this way are the same people as the ones who would undo it.

As a nation, we became everything our forefathers warned us of. They literally constructed and handed us the blueprint for a free nation & we royally screwed it up. The government became a behemoth of bureaucracy. It grew so enormous that we can’t even track all the fraud & theft that’s going on. The government became untouchable. The toothpaste is out of the tube, you can’t put it back in. We all know what’s coming.
