Thank you Jose! I am not stressing over Kuminga anymore. We got a very good defensive wing in Ziaire. We are no longer in as bad a spot as we were a day ago. If Kuminga doesn't work out, I know the LAL FO will switch to a suitable target. They have earned that grace and understanding from me this offseason

The Lakers potential rotation now. Guards. Luka Doncic. Austin Reaves. Collin Sexton. Jaden Hardy. Cameron Carr. Forwards. Quentin Grimes. Sandro Mamukelashvili. Ziaire Williams. Adou Thiero. Jake LaRavia. Centers. Walker Kessler. Kevin Looney. Outside looking in. Bronny James probably following LeBron. Jarred Vanderbilt. And Dalton Knecht. In talks. Jonathan Kuminga forward. Looking at the rotation this team is a fantastic transition from the athletically challenged team the Lakers had last season. Also last seasons team had only two defensive specialists in Marcus Smart and Jarred Vanderbilt but the latters offense makes him unlikely to get a chance with JJ Redick. This team has rangy defenders in line with the direction the league is headed. Ziaire Williams being top 20 in the NBA in some advanced defensive stats. Grimes is the archetypical 3 and D wing with emphasis on poa duties. Cameron Carr and Adou Thiero are prospects showing tremendous promise on the defensive end. All these defenders are young and athletic. Zeroing in on Ziaire, he's a 6-foot-8 wing with a 6-foot-10 wingspan. Ideally, he fits into our power forward spot with his length and ability to deter shots at the rim as a forward. His 3-point shooting stats look bad in a vacuum but he's shown better efficiency shooting the three over the past 3 seasons. Looking at his shot mechanics below, you can see his shit release point is good, his follow-through is good as well. He can become an elite shooter especially with two of the league's best playmakers in his backcourt. Also, he can catch lobs too. Nice. Hats off to the tremendous work Rob Pelinka has done this summer rebuilding this team. Having this flexibility of wing defenders alongside an elite rim protector in Kessler honestly makes me very bullish on the Lakers. This is a 57 win team barring any major injuries. There is top 5 offense and top 10 defensive potential. Rob Pelinka has done an excellent job dealing and wheeling like a GM. I have been hard on him in the past for being too passive and not making moves on the margin. The last 14 months have been so much better from him.

Those calling Keaton Wagler a bust after his Summer League debut missed the bigger picture. He struggled in his first game with just 7 points on 1 of 7 shooting including 1 of 5 from three. The early noise was loud and premature. Tonight Wagler drops a game high 23 points and buries this stepback three to help the Clippers pull away. The kid is adjusting fast.

@JMVilomar I think Suder's a good shooter but his foot speed doesn't look strong enough to match up against NBA pros. Summer league is one thing. The NBA proper is a different beast. He fits a team that needs his shooting more, like the Nets. Our team last season fits him more than this.

Today we're going to find out how much Adou Thiero's offense can shine when there's not much around him (Cameron Carr is out with a contused thumb). If he can get to 20 points today with some efficiency, that should help us raise expectations for his role slightly. So far, so good x.com/MindOfBron/sta…

@F_rederic_k Oh. yes, good point, Carr has that confidence without rush that make smile every time he drives, shoot or pass and that probably may influence Thiero way and they seems to be growing great chemistry.. One last question and sorry to bother you but, what do you think about Suder?

@JMVilomar Excellent analysis. Yes Thiero is playing under more control. Only good things can come out of that. He's making the right reads when he drives. So far I'm impressed. I think it's linked to Carr's presence on the team, I can't prove that though

Lakers fans, this is why I’m extremely high on Adou Thiero as our next volume defender. A 6'7" (7'0" wingspan) athletic freak who’s already racking up 10 stocks (8 steals) through just 3 Summer League games, over 3 per game. Chase-down blocks, strips, and smart playmaking reads. He’s starting to look like the defensive playmaker we’ve desperately needed since we let Alex Caruso walk. Thiero has the length, motor and instincts to become that cost-controlled POA grunt-work anchor. Think Lu Dort / Stephon Castle / Derrick White types. The guy who takes the toughest perimeter assignments night after night. Paired with Carr (7'1" wingspan), our young wings suddenly have the elite length to match the league’s best perimeter defenders

@JMVilomar I think they haven't inquired about him because of his injury history and age. He's the oldest good option on the market so will be a short term fix at best
