As a concept I don’t hate green catching but as of right now it’s wildly unbalanced and bad for the game. Madden/CFB already heavily favor offense and right now green catching basically only helps offense. I would like to see it be improved for defense but more importantly be harder to do on offense. The dropped picks on green catches is bad but what’s worse is people throwing awful passes and catching it because the mechanic simply is too easy to use. Hope all of these things are taken into account for Madden when it drops because it’s not good for the game in its current state.

@SplashBroKJ If I green the catch why shouldn’t I? The real problem is it can be yellow an still be caught in traffic. Window should just be red and green to me. I’ve seen people catch crazy shit with it turned off as well

@Treythomas_ you know how to get the cover 4/6 to not match from macros

To make remembering macros easier I set them so that clicks to the left whether it be X or L on D pad the coverages are to that side of the hash. Hopefully this will be a helpful tip for anyone trying to get better on defense. It has def helped my muscle memory. #CFB27

Daily reminder: your defensive shells do not need to be overly complicated. Run Cover 3 Cloud, get good with the switch stick, and watch how many more games you start winning.

Honestly I think CFB 27 is pretty solid but here are a few things I like and don’t like. - I like the QB throw power. Most people don’t like it but I think it separates good from great passer. - I like the new features that are added and feel like I have more control . - zones are way better. - Pancakes happen way too often and run defense feels impossible. - flipping your defense in nickel is bad. The slot corner refuses to move - wear and tear seems broken - passes are caught at a high percentage without timing it. I green a lot of my passes but I catch way too many routes in traffic without a green catch. It’s day 2 so things can change but wanted to give my opinion on it. Honestly I just appreciate the QB throw power being bad

CFB 27 Beta Review | Ace Madden Team 🟢 WHAT THEY GOT RIGHT Defense has more options than ever: - Macros (not available in beta) - Aggressive/Conservative Zones - Plaster - Cross Manning - Stunt availability - Macros will be one of the best additions to the game. Over the course of the year this will save serious mileage on your thumbs. - The new Quick Adjustments menu will annoy people at first but it's the proper UI/UX implementation. Stick with it. Once it clicks, it's faster than what we had before. - Deep Zones are improved. When not being threatened, they find work & drive on the ball. - Man & Match coverage checks are a welcome addition that gives you more counters to meta formations - Chip & Release for TE/HB routes is going to open up a lot of offensive creativity - RPO handoffs are much faster than before —————————————— 🔴 WHAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED - Tackling needs a buff. Way too many broken tackles especially vs stiff arm. - LB Show Blitz isn't properly aligning linebackers - Pressing moves your safeties even when you have adjustments set. They shouldn't move. - Formation shift has a tell. The player stances give it away. Also seeing players in incorrect spots. - QB hand sign animations are too long even for a single hot route - HB route inconsistency vs man coverage is a real problem. Texas routes are nerfed & ins/outs stutter a lot. - Speed boost still exists. It's just not as exploitable as it was last year. - The variance between aggressive/ultra aggressive and conservative/ultra conservative isn't distinct enough - Expand roll defense to include Cover 3 Cloud and Cover 6/9 - Chip & Release isn't chipping consistently. Most of the time they skip the block entirely and just release into the route. - Double Moves need to be a proper counter to agg zone. Sluggo/Out & Up should be able to punish that adjustment. Right now, those routes still suck & don't run well. Streaks are the only true counter. - Zigs & Returns are a point of contention on our team. Some feel they're too slow to be viable competitively, others like the spacing they create. MICRO FIXES - Formation alignment glitches: Trips TE Flex and U Trips (trips on short side) — formation splits need to be consistent - Smoke & Go route is broken. Stops after ~5 yards. (e.g: Quick Fork Zig - Trips X Nasty. Outside Trips WR) —————————————— Overall our whole team came away impressed with CFB27. The game has good bones & it feels like we're gaining more control over gameplay every year.
