timeline is all fud + mud but yeah, whatever, do you have any idea how hard it is to make a network that won't arbitrarily censor swaps.... ie - allows anyone to join as node but also safe from attacks? This won't kill TC at all. We upgrade to DKLs, get back to swapping and move on.

The exact leakage path has not been demonstrated yet, but it's clear it was a GG20 bug of the same form as a Paillier-modulus attack: a malicious participant can publish a malformed Paillier modulus during keygen, then use later signing/MtA rounds to extract honest parties’ ECDSA shares. It's likely the latest GG20 patches protects against this, but my recommendation is for thorchain to migrate to DKLS with @silencelabs_sl maintaining the lib.

Every fucking time people show their stupidity. @THORChain run by nodes. If 2\3 nodes want to halt - it will halt. If 2\3 nodes want to trade - it would trade. Decentralization in a flesh.

@DouglasTuman @kayabaNerve @justinberman95 nonsensical take. The library of relevance was built 6 years ago by binance and audited by multiple firms like kudelski. Theres like a commit a year in the repo. Not sure how this code could move slower.

As for next steps 1) identify the bug, patch, release (it will either be a patched GG20 or upgrade to DKLS immediately) 2) Get back to swapping, it's a 20% haircut on funds the protocol mostly owns As for the malicious node's bond.... the other node operators can vote on how to handle it, likely that node operator has abandoned their bond.

Damage contained to 1 of 5 Asgard Vaults (20% fund loss) Malicious node churns in, extracts key material from other nodes, compiles a private key and can sweep the vault. There have been multiple CVEs on GG20 over the years, patched at the time. Devs are looking deeper. The community has already most likely identified the actual malicious node in this case.

With the integration into @THORChain by @jpthor We can expect a true DEX with the most important part missing by every other exchange and P2P platform: Absolutely 0 counter-party human involvement exchange medium to swap into and out of Monero. @kayabaNerve work on @SeraiDEX is coming to fruition. There is no wrapped token. There is no KYC. There is no arbiter. There is very little, if any, risk that comes with any P2P platform, swap service, or exchanges. There is no bullshit monero:native : Completely private, completely free

It’s not live on Mainnet yet, but it appears to be functioning with real Monero! 🤯 None of this would have been possible without the contributions @kayabaNerve has made. The Monero fam is patiently waiting for the launch of @SeraiDEX, but it’s hard not to also be excited about Monero going live on THORChain very soon!! 🔥 Once live, proceed with caution. To be honest, THOR has to really prove itself here, but I, for one, am thrilled to see this integration finally happen. Thank you to JP, @CBarraford, @BooneW, and everyone who made this happen!! 💪💪🙏
