@kfk1970 @SandyofSuffolk Save the 'we built society' lecture. Millions of us are paying in right now to fund your protected pension rises while we can't afford homes and face a worse deal later. Your parents comment is pathetic.

@JRB___2 @SandyofSuffolk Just hating on people who worked for 40 years, paid their taxes and built a society, living in the home they bought and paid for. Shame your parents didn't give you any money, I expect they don't like you.

Isn't it funny how so many people resent pensioners getting £954 every 4 weeks, but they're happy to fund millions of working age people sitting on their bums all day watching TV because they claim to be anxious, or illegal immigrants living it up in warm hotels eating three meals a day. Strange old world.

Dear @Tesco Would it be possible if we ask kindly enough for you to try your absolute hardest to go 24hrs without increasing the price of petrol/diesel for no other reason than pure astronomical greed. I look forward to hearing from you soon Kind Regards Everyone

@Stevo_K0ng77 @NewsonTed Congrats. Home ownership has become a myth for young people now. There won’t be any state pension and the retirement age will be never. But we have to keep paying for the gimme generation that wants more and more.

@JRB___2 @NewsonTed FYI, I was paying on average of £40 per week NI back in the 80s. My contributions over the last 50 years will never be paid back by way of a government pension. Most people don't pay that much even today, over 40 years on.

To the pensioners who were howling at me discussing scrapping the triple lock last night I have just two things to say: Shouldn't you be nicer considering that my salary pays your pension? The state pension is a safety net, not a way of life. You've had years to save privately.

‘It’s incomprehensible to me.’ ‘That is a lie!’ Dennis Reed and Ted Newson go head-to-head over whether the triple lock should be protected for pensions. 📺 Freeview 236, Sky 512, Virgin 604

@Stevo_K0ng77 @NewsonTed Getting above inflation pension rises every year and houses that have increased significantly in value isn’t enough?

@JRB___2 @NewsonTed We made life better for the pensioners of our time. Try doing the same for the pensioners of your time. Stop being such a selfish prick.

@Stevo_K0ng77 @NewsonTed And instead of making life better for future generations you want them to suffer like you, apparently, have. Take a look in the mirror!

@JRB___2 @NewsonTed Prosperity because we worked hard, like 60 hours a week. Unlike you little soy boys who cry like little babies if you have a little cold and take a week off work. I worked 6 days a week for 25 years. Prick.

@StephenTompsett @blaiklockBP If all these boomers have properties which have significantly increased in value and do not have mortgages, why do they need the triple lock?

@JRB___2 @blaiklockBP It typically took 25+ years to pay off the mortgage to purchase a property, often paying extortionate rates of interest, delaying or postponing immediate self gratifying purchases and expenditure...

@blaiklockBP They suffered affording their 3x house to salary ratio property on one income (the property which has increased significantly in value over their life) They deserve more & everyone else struggling to afford 10x ratio on dual incomes now needs to suffer like they, apparently, did

Forget the Triple Lock. Wait until my generation find out about how boomers had their interest on their mortgages offset against any tax they paid. And the banks did it automatically.

Genuinely unbelievable to see these people say the country is absolutely fucked and then attribute the blame not to themselves, the people who elected every government of the past 40 years, but to those born 20 years ago.
MaDaCo@Cirkus37

@OlIyCFC Here speaks the self righteous generation, the person who probably worked their backside off for 40 years, paid everything they should, put money into a pension, probably went without many things now seen as necessary, should get nothing back because someone who hasn’t wants it.
