IT’S LIKE AN OVEN IN HERE! It’s cooler in the bakery today than it is outside thanks to our air conditioning systems. It’s still uncomfortable to work though thanks to the big ball of fire in the sky.

It seems Hospitality is the whipping boy of governments. They think the workers are just having fun, eat lavish meals all the time and the businesses are coining it. But, as life gets people down it’s the hospitality industry that helps perk them up.

This building in Uig, Outer Hebrides is the school, a cafe, a museum and the local fire station in one. Good community use of a resource.

Just spent 3 hours queueing for security checks at Amsterdam @Schiphol airport, crammed into a sweaty, poorly ventilated room with thousands of others. Apparently they can’t get staff. Could tell torrid stories; but what happens in the queue stays in the queue!

I am now the undisputed World Champion on @BBCSheffield @tobyfoster show quiz “WHO’s THE MUG”. Maybe they’ll paint a postbox gold in my honour or I get the freedom of South Yorkshire, or perhaps something more modest, like nowt 😂
