@rapidfirewv @TukiFromKL I think both are true. We don’t necessarily work as “hard” as far as manual labor type thing. But also the gap between salaries and cost of living widened a whole lot from then to now.

@TukiFromKL Eh, I'm a millennial, I work from home in my own house. My dad ran greenhouses and landscaped, my grandpa worked on the rail road, and my great-grandpa in the coal mines. No millennial or Gen Z actually works harder. We just require shit they didn't have and much bigger houses.

🚨 Do you understand what this actually means.. Gen Z and millennials aren't burnt out because they're weak.. they did the math.. your dad bought a house at 24 on one salary.. a 40-hour week and a pension waiting at the end.. here's what changed.. in 1970 the median home cost 2x the average annual salary.. today it costs 6x.. and that's before the interest rate.. > Boomers graduated with little to no debt into an economy with employer pensions, cheap housing, and a job market that rewarded loyalty.. > Gen Z graduates with $30,000 in student debt into an economy that replaced pensions with 401ks where YOU bear all the risk.. replaced job security with "freelance opportunities".. and replaced affordable housing with a market that requires two incomes just to rent.. the work ethic didn't change.. the math changed.. > Boomers didn't build that economy.. they inherited it.. built by the Greatest Generation after the war, funded by government programs, subsidized housing, public universities, and infrastructure they didn't pay for.. > they rode the boom, extracted everything, gutted the pensions, made the houses unaffordable, defunded the universities.. and then told the next generation to work harder..
Leading Report@LeadingReport

Gen Z and millennials are burnt out because older generations had much easier lives while working far less hard, per FORTUNE.

Developing language story in Quebec. French broadcasting rights for the Montreal Canadiens next season have yet to be determined. In English, situation is set. You subscribe to TSN and Sportnet, you can watch all the games. In French, it’s much more complex. Sources tell @JeremyFilosa that RDS already loses $500,000 per game they broadcast, and they cannot take on the share of games they’ve had in the past. TVA Sports is also bleeding money, and they cannot pick up the slack. They may even need to get out of broadcasting games completely. That leaves streaming to fill the gap. But if the Canadiens go that route, it would put the team in a situation where English fans have it much better than French fans, both in cost and complexity. The Habs are aware this would be a terrible look. And a bigger long term question is how will Canadian broadcasters keep up with escalating rights fees as the country’s economy continues to stagnate. This is the canary in the coal mine.

@wyshynski Game 7 is only Game 7 because of the first 6 games. It’s a battle to get there. Like I said, by all means expand the playoffs and have 7v10 and 8v9 in a 7 (or 5) game series. But playing one extra game is just so gimmicky. And to your point - stop crying and finish 8th.

1. What an absolute show it's going to be down the stretch in the East. 2. (whispers) sure would be fun to have a BOS/DET play-in game in an expanded playoff format ...

@JRLeone @northernck @eliasmakos @brendanshowbiz @RDSca @TVASports I think it’s the full 82. RDS wants less because they are losing 500k per game. TVA never made their portion profitable. Either the regional / national rights become a break even for the networks or francophone viewer will need at least 1 more subscription to watch 82

@TheCDNrational @eliasmakos I believe RDS still has the regional rights to 45 games. It’s the other 39 including Saturday nights/national rights that are up for grabs.

@eliasmakos I don’t understand how this is possible. Habs games get the most audience in the NHL by far for local games. Just lower the price?

@RealEmirHan Between SLP and Maestro, he did American Sniper, American Hustle, Hangover 3, A Star Is Born, War Dogs, 3 Guardians movies, 2 Avengers movies, a Thor movie, IF, and helped produce movies like Joker. Bit of a stretch to imply he stopped making cool movies to just chase Oscars.

@WONF4W It’s ticket prices and running the same city twice in a row. Creative hardly ever has anything to do with WrestleMania ticket sales because a) tix go on sale months before the show and b) even a few years ago in really bad creative years, it still sold out fairly easily.

@MarkBaker3006 @WalshFreedom I don’t think the point is he’s looking for handouts - the point is those are all things literally said/promised by the president and a big reason a lot of people voted for him. Fast forward a year and those things haven’t happened and don’t seem likely at this point.

MAGA check-in: got your Trump phone yet? Paid for it with the $5K DOGE check or the $2K tariff dividend? ICE enjoying that $50K signing bonus? ATC get those $10K checks? Anyway, congrats on the wins: Mexico paid for the wall, the swamp got drained, and all the pedophiles are locked up — love that for you. Also: huge shoutout for ending the Russia/Ukraine war, annexing Greenland, reopening Alcatraz, and making Canada the 51st state. Busy year! And wow — inflation is over, groceries are cheaper, electricity is down, natural gas is down, healthcare is half price, and drug prices are 1,400% lower (yes, that’s how percentages work, obviously). Plus tariffs are paid by “other countries” — definitely not Americans — and Trump’s patriotic gold watches were ABSOLUTELY not made in China. Yay!!!! 💥

@JoshTurner17 @ChrisGross19 @NFL_DovKleiman Not exactly. States only tax the days you worked there. $37.5M ÷ ~200 duty days ≈ $187.5K/day. You pay CA tax on the 187 for days worked in CA. Net result: instead of ~37% total tax (federal), he’s probably closer to 40% for the year, despite living in an income tax free state

@ZacKaizen @DavidAFrench He’s obviously more popular internationally and amongst Spanish speakers but he’s collaborated with Drake, Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B and other American/CDN artists. He’s hosted SNL. He’s had matches in WWE. I wouldn’t say no one in the continental US has heard of him.

At the end of the day, this outrage isn't just performative, it's really, really weird. That level of emotion over arguably the most popular singer in the world performing at a halftime show is just bizarre. It's so hard to believe it's real.
Mike Nellis@MikeNellis

Megyn Kelly just shouting “FOOTBALL IS OURS” at Piers Morgan about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl show is the perfect example of this moment in time. Put it in a time capsule and send it out into space.

@texasstatetau @DavidAFrench 1) I agree there’s been a bit of a lack of diversity in their halftime performers (primarily pop or hip hop) the last 10 years. 2) However, I think they’re just trying to pick the performers that will drive the most eyeballs to the show and generate ad revenue.

@DavidAFrench It’s hit the point of boiling over. Conservatives have seen a lack of representation over the last 10-15 years in the NFL, awards shows, etc., gave feedback and many have stopped watching. Now they’re just pissed. Will anything change? no, but more will walk away.

@marg389 @DavidAFrench You know the NFL literally just sat around a board room saying: “The most streamed artist in the world 4 of the last 6 years said yes to the halftime show? That’s awesome!” No hidden agenda, just trying to get the biggest person they can and everyone just lost their minds.

@DavidAFrench Despite Roger Godell sending teams around the world to play, it’s not going to globally expand the NFL and this stunt to have an allegedly global star perform at halftime has not won over a global audience to the sport. Soccer will always remain the sole football sport
