@JSMONT83 @Damnedolecowboy @MichaelShurkin Yes, our government sucks, that's something we have in common. That and a whole bunch of other things. These ego clashes between the English and the French are ridiculous and must stop

@JSMONT83 @Damnedolecowboy @MichaelShurkin And today we are helping preventing you to do your new British thing, letting your daughters being räped by pakis, by stopping them at Calais. All without showing any gratitude. Consider that the debt has been repaid, if there ever was one

@JSMONT83 @Damnedolecowboy @MichaelShurkin You were doing your British thing. “Maintaining the balance of power on the continent.” Basically, making sure no one got strong enough to break through your blockade and come kick your ass on your island. The British strategy for centuries. Empires aren’t charities

@Damnedolecowboy @MichaelShurkin Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to hide behind a sea and a wall of warships. Or better yet, an ocean. The Anglo-Saxon thalassocracy should learn humility

@MikeTimgor @Skint_Eastwood1 None of the Nordic countries are socialist though. Sweden and Norway have more billionaires capita than the UK. They are ultra capitalist

🚨Jeremy Clarkson RIPS Into Jeremy Corbyn And His Socialism Dream “I lived through the 70s, I know what socialism is, and I’ve seen it at work around the world, in places like Cambodia and Venezuela, It doesn’t work, and it’s dangerously doesn’t work.” “It’s a hopeless, hopeless proposition.”

@Criorian It’s not enough money for anyone to have a decent standard of living. I’m only comparing it to other countries.

@PremSportsTV @anthonywatson_ @dallaglio8 Step in and do what? Is 150k not enough, this isn’t a slight in Tom! But what else do you want the RFU to do? Maybe he just wants to play and live in France and feels that’s the right move for him

@TeagueRoger @mitchy8900 It's quite simple offer PS workers the equivalent private sector wage and most would be more than happy to forfeit their pension.

@mitchy8900 I agree do that and you remove that huge underwritten debt for public sector pensions the tax payer is liable for. A level playing field for all. Let's put an end to gold plated pensions.

I'd seriously look at the gold plated defined benefit schemes paid to public sector employees at a cost of £5.1Bn a year with a total liability for unfunded public sector pensions at roughly £1.3..£1.5 trillion. Remember, that's on top of getting the State Pension!
Reem Ibrahim@ReemAmirIbrahim

Government pensions are a scam. Younger workers are paying more and more to fund a system that is mathematically impossible to sustain. Would you scrap the triple lock?

@Wolfismithbrake @sophielouisecc Not presuming "none do any work" or "all of them" – but many public sector roles have generous defined benefit pensions (often final salary-linked) funded by taxpayers, with employer contributions far higher than private sector averages.

If we are complaining about pensions then we should be complaining about the gold plated public sector pensions of civil servants, council workers that actually do very little Why are we paying for them to have absurdly high pensions yet draw the line at the triple lock?

@LoftusSteve Great, now pay skilled PS workers 10k extra wages PA to offset their purposely deflated wages and 90% would sign up voluntarily.

A super easy place to start with pension reform. If you get a public sector pension above £20,000 per annum you lose your state pension. This is easy for the Gov to track and should be phased in gradually so it's £20k for 2040.
