It's not often that I disagree with the 5Pillars audience but I do this time! Why would you want to facilitate an event where Islam, Muslims and the Prophet (pbuh) will be insulted? Remember, this event may well not take place if prominent Muslim speakers refuse to participate. All Tommy Robinson wants is a prestigious, prominent platform to speak from. He doesn't care about winning the debate, he just cares about clipping the content to distribute to hundreds of millions of people. I find it mind boggling that Muslims would want anything to do with that.

We asked 5Pillars readers and viewers if they think Muslims should debate Tommy Robinson at the Oxford Union on May 28. 63% said that he should be debated for the sake of defending Islam and to expose him. Whilst 37% said he should be denied a prominent, prestigious platform and be boycotted altogether. Tommy Robinson is due to speak at the Oxford Union on May 28 in a debate about Islam, along with fellow Islamophobes Laurence Fox and Calvin Robinson. No Muslim speakers have been confirmed so far. Protests are expected to take place on the day of the debate.

We already spend £144bn on pensions p/a(£177bn with credits) and your idea is to double that to over £300bn? Making welfare about £500bn? We already spend more on pensions than defence and education combined

I’m a pensioner. So I benefit from the triple lock. I get the full state pension. Which is £965 every four weeks; so equivalent to £1045 a month. I get the full amount because I have 50 years of working and paying my stamp and income tax. I get no other pension. It’s not luxury!

@Regenerate_SOT On top of that you make it financially impossible for small businesses to compete as they can’t afford to pay staff, which just means you’re handing capital over to large corporations like Starbucks or ASDA.

@Regenerate_SOT All you do with increasing minimum wage to £15 is increase the cost of everything. Tesco will adjust their prices to keep the same levels of profit, so people will be worse off. You want to put more money in people’s back pocket? Reduce costs. Not artificially increase revenue.

@KarlMarxFan17 @Daniel_Sugarman What it is is complete and utter populism. It’s not the job of a councillor to raise their voice for Palestine or to force accountability onto Israel. You can hold that belief in your personal life but your job is to sort the bins and social care, not buy votes via populism.

@dense_evi @RussellDutton @paullewismoney Unsure of what argument you’re trying to make. We are spending more money on welfare than what we’re receiving in income tax. £333bn. Pensions alone (with credits) costs us more than education and defence combined, and is within touching distance of the NHS. It’s not sustainable.

@peteoconn I’m Robins in but the club has to commit to him and not have a wobble in September/October if we’re in the bottom half. My worry is he gets another go next season only for us to shit the bed with a slow start. Either sack or commit.
