We've released 2603a to fix some problems in 2603. This release is *required* to use RetroAchievements. 2603a fixes some bugs with RetroAchievements, adds a workaround for a crash in TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, and more. Check the updated Progress Report for more info!

I don’t understand. This stuff is real, it exists, you can actually buy it, and yet the VR market is almost dead. What happened to the kids in the 90s who dreamed about this possibility? Why do modern kids now go crazy for games where you don’t really do anything, where at most you just swipe up and down, or spend their time screaming in stupid games that require no concentration, like amoebas with no curiosity? This stuff finally f***ing exists, and yet the videogame market pretends it’s invisible. F***! F***! F***! In 1998, when we were 13 playing Resident Evil 2 on the PlayStation with my friends, we would have killed to be able to play something like this. This is because games with very simple mechanics, like jump and shoot, will be the first ones that AI will be able to reproduce with minimal latency and infinite possibilities. At the beginning it will probably be a bit clunky, but just like we are now able to generate the video, we will soon be able to actually play it.

Today I tried VR sim racing for the first time and it completely blew my mind 🔥 After just a few minutes I basically disappeared from my studio and got fully immersed in racing. VR lets you visually sit inside the car, and with the wheel and pedals you actually feel like you’re driving it. At first you’re mostly learning the car and the track. Remembering where to brake, where you can push the speed, how the corners flow. You slowly start to understand the car, feel its limits, and figure out what it’s capable of. That’s so cool. After about 2 hours things slowly started to come together. That feeling when you nail a corner is incredibly satisfying. And when you hit 300 km/h in an F1 car, it looks and feels insane. Honestly this was one of the coolest tech experiences I’ve had in a long time. VR + sim racing hardware is on another level. If you’re into cars, gaming, or VR, I highly recommend trying it at least once.

It's interesting that they call it a Remake, because without VR, it's more of a downgrade. Obviously, it's about the better graphics, which on the other hand, PSVR2 or PC could easily handle 🤷‍♂️
