@JSifalda

Just a collection of thoughts with a bit of sarcasm about side projects, web development and leadership written by a human (me, and not AI).

The #1 reason your team resists change has nothing to do with the change itself. It's because learning something new makes them feel stupid.

And I've reworked the planning and execution guidelines in my *global* CLAUDE/AGENTS md files. Major improvement. Now all agents plan and execute in the same iCloud folders, so I can see updates from my iPhone too.

Great prompt I tried today: › Is there a smart way to make {file path} smaller and tighter, while actually making it achieve the same goals even BETTER? This made some AGENTS .md files ~50% smaller, with no quality loss.

forcing a rhythm that doesn't fit your life isn't discipline. it's self-sabotage.

the "start early, win early" fantasy assumes your day ends early. mine doesn't. here's what i'm trying instead: → protect 2 evening hours on mon/wed/fri. no meetings after 3pm. → test my actual chronotype (there's a quiz for this)

tried waking up at 5:15am this week. expected: productivity unlock. reality: productivity decline gained 1 hour of morning focus. BUT lost 3 hours of evening capacity. after 5pm meetings and walking my dog, i had nothing left. side projects? forget it

good teams do three things at once: they expose the ugly problems → they take ownership to fix them → they cover for each other while doing it. you cant build good software without conflict, you cant survive conflict without trust. → you need both running at the same time

truth i have to accept today: if the receiver didnt get the message, the sender failed, i failed. no bad team, only bad leader. my lessos: - stop trying to save feelings. - clarity is kindness. - if you have to repeat it 3x, write it down or let them go. #engineeringmanagement #radicalcandor #leadership

Totally worth it! I just regret I read it at the end of the vacation, so I don't have that free day to fix my life (…but I will get to that by end of the year)

@PrajwalTomar_ good tips but maybe not practical? eg, how exactly i will make the hearts-beats routed on cheaper models? etc thanks in advance 🙏

Most people try OpenClaw and quit after seeing the bill. I almost did too. 3 days in, I was burning $35-40/day. Then I discovered the settings that 90% of users miss. Here's how to run OpenClaw without going broke ↓

they're answering questions you haven't asked yet → they're bracing for criticism. this usually comes from past toxic managers and their actions, or worse → it comes from you. if your team over-explains, start asking if they feel safe. #engineeringmanagement #leadership #culture

when a dev sends me a wall of text on slack, i get worried. not because i hate reading. because i recognize why they wrote it. over-explaining isn't about detail → it's self-protection. every extra paragraph is a shield.
