@ENirenberg I agree generally that the "immunosuppression" here is overblown, but this specific take doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Think about what "deal with the vaccine" means immunologically in the context of a memory response. CD8 likely kill the mRNA transduced cells.

that CD8 T cell responses peak later with mRNA vaccines than CD4 T cell responses, that their extensively primed immune system is able to deal with the vaccine more quickly and doesn't get as much stimulation to its CD8 T cell compartment compared with those who aren't infected.

@EColicino 6 weeks at half pay and then I had to go back because I was the only one with a paycheck (such as it was).

Can anyone who had a baby during their postdoc share how this arrangement for maternity/paternity/parental leave worked? Especially for those who don’t have paid leave at their universities?
