@OpenSourceZone @JoeConchaTV The 13% that disapprove most likely know nothing about what’s really in it or even what the true goals of the conflict were.

@Jimmyb2ps @IngrahamAngle It's not just about the cost. Read the polls, most Americans don't support it anymore. There's the midterms in a few months..

@ellelledeell @ASFleischman @Dakota_Meyer Do you seriously think that a 'tapered' withdrawal (or any different way to withdraw) could've prevented the Talibans from taking back the country ? After 20 years of no progress?

The same people criticizing negotiations today spent twenty years defending a strategy that cost thousands of American lives, trillions of dollars, and ended with the Taliban back in power. Forgive me if I don’t take lectures on “strength” from the architects of failure.

@RealAmps @scottaphillips @jewishinsider This was extremely expensive and a tiny fraction of the number of ships that normally goes through. Our strategic reserves (without which gas would already be at $10) are dangerously low, same with our missile interceptors. This was the only way, or troops. This war was DOA.

@JVolk93 @scottaphillips @jewishinsider The US was quietly escorting large number of ships through the straits. Continuing and accelerating that alleviated pressure. In any case, I’m not opposed to an interim deal to open SoH. This deal however was incompetently negotiated and is terrible

“None of them have presented to me, or the American people, a better alternative.” -Obama, 2015 “It’s not just whether this is good or bad, it’s what is the alternative.” -Vance, 2026 As Vice President JD Vance takes on the role of chief defender of the U.S.-Iran MOU and the forthcoming talks, he has begun to sound a lot like someone whom the administration has lately spent a lot of time attacking: former President Barack Obama. @RealAmps @scottaphillips @jewishinsider These were the options. Continuing the blockade is what would have caused $10 gas in a matter of months. There was no way to open the Strait without boots on the grounds. Iran doesn't care about inflation or the economic pain of its people.

@scottaphillips @jewishinsider Yes Trump is far better on Israel (and basically every other issue) than Obama. That doesn’t change the fact that this MOU is likely disaster. The options aren’t 1) terrible MOU 2) boots on the ground 3) $10 gas. Continuing the blockade, or a better negotiation aren’t impossible.

@scottaphillips @jewishinsider Second part you're right. First part... Obama's JCPOA was better on every level than Trump's MOU. TO deny it is being dishonest in the deepest way.

The difference between the Trump administration and the Obama administration towards Israel is night and day. To equate them is being dishonest in the deepest way. The American People do not support boots on the ground, nor will they pay $10 gas for a fever dream of defeating Iran.

@sunnyright ''It doesn't matter whose money it was'' is a complete lack of understanding of the world economy. If you take another country's money (Iran or any other) in such an amount and never give it back, the world will stop investing in the US dollar (which is already very weakened)

There are many on this platform acting as if Trump's ending of this war -- or JD Vance's defense of the agreement that ended it -- are somehow fringe or unpopular. What has been and is deeply unpopular among Americans is the Iran War itself. If you favor it, the fringe is you.

@RefuteThemAll @ggreenwald @BarakRavid True. He definitely saw the urgency of getting the oil prices down for the summer and try to save the midterms. But after November it's a whole different story. Does he even care who wins 2028? I feel he'd be happy to be the only Republican capable of winning the WH.

Trump has sent JD out to warn Israel. Seems like there is a full court press on stating the administration’s position. Maybe he is serious. It could all be for show, but I think Trump realized he’s going to lose the House, and if he keeps this going, the Senate is gone too. That would mean a successful impeachment, and Trump’s giant ego is the most important thing to him. x.com/evanakilgore/s…

HOLY SH*T: Vice President @JDVance just warned Israel not to mess around with the United States and that the world is starting to hate them. "If I were in the cabinet of the Israeli government, I might not be attacking the only powerful ally I have."

@hunkura @tokyojose @BergerPosts 2 wrongs don't make a right. What he's saying is that this war should've never started in the first place. Now that it was started ending it with a deal worse than before is not 'a peace deal that puts an end to all of that'. It just postpones more war.

The most humiliating part of this war actually was probably when the U.S. bombed a girls school, killing 160+ children A peace deal puts an end to all of that. Yet for some reason Dem hawks believe not enough blood has been spilled and demand even more:
Chris Murphy 🟧@ChrisMurphyCT

I’m heading to the Senate floor right now to talk about this humiliating deal with Iran and how it is final, total proof of how calamitous this war has been.

Rape gangs are not some kind of aberration. Ask any combat veteran what they saw in Afghanistan. The sexual torture and slavery of children is utterly commonplace in Muslim countries. It’s part of their “culture.” Which is why it’s suicidal to import that culture into the west.
