Our strategic reserves (without which gas would already be at $10) are dangerously low, same with our missile interceptors. This was the only way, or troops. This war was DOA.

@RealAmps @scottaphillips @jewishinsider These were the options. Continuing the blockade is what would have caused $10 gas in a matter of months. There was no way to open the Strait without boots on the grounds. Iran doesn't care about inflation or the economic pain of its people.

The options aren’t 1) terrible MOU 2) boots on the ground 3) $10 gas. Continuing the blockade, or a better negotiation aren’t impossible.

There are many on this platform acting as if Trump's ending of this war -- or JD Vance's defense of the agreement that ended it -- are somehow fringe or unpopular. What has been and is deeply unpopular among Americans is the Iran War itself. If you favor it, the fringe is you.
