I shared some thoughts tonight on the KSBoard about the current online community, specifically around the transfer portal. Someone could probably speak on this better than I can, and it's probably worth an entire book on its own, but I wanted to share some of what I'm thinking on here. This is the most tense I've ever seen the online community during the transfer portal. I think that's due to a lot of factors, not limited to, a smaller sphere of information relay, more burner accounts that can put out information without fear of personal backlash, and a driver for quick intel that can result in a clouding of the bigger picture information. The last few years of the portal created such a high amount of revenue for media companies, but also burner accounts and those taking advantage of Discord chats and X monetization, that it created expectations on newbreakers to break more news when there's the same amount of news as in years past. It feels a lot like the pot calling the kettle black, saying this, especially given that a lot of the news I break sometimes others don't want me to put out, but I really wonder how sustainable it is to have the expectation for so much information at all times, and to have that expectation continually increased.

NEWS: Kentucky's Jasper Johnson, a five-star recruit in the class of 2025, plans to enter the transfer portal, a source told DraftExpress. Johnson will be represented by CAA Basketball.
