@BigSwingTempo If you are giving your opponent 4 shots, equity says you want it to be 2 shots on the front and 2 shots on the back. and if you ae giving just one shot, you would want it early in the match (front) rather than the back.

I recently learned that the handicaps for holes are split between the front and back 9. Meaning evens are one side, odds the other. Doesn’t that make the handicaps of the holes completely arbitrary? Unless each course is designed hole by hole for difficulty?

@Pannaveli Can confirm. When I was a 13, I made some money, or played terrible because I was a 13. When I was a 5, I made money because I was a 5, or played poorly that day. Been an 8 for years now and I am either even, or I’m paying a few bucks. I never cash anything but skins.

I hate everyone posting their ghin and ghin shaming. The ideal man plays off a 13 and is invited to member guests. The worst place to ever be is right here. 8.5. Its a lose lose everyday.
