Within 2 weeks of having our child I found out I'm being laid off. As the sole income for my family, this came as a shock and was a little stressful. I've never been impacted by layoffs until now. After some thought I decided not all hope is gone, here are my thoughts...(thread).

@jonakiforing For those code bases that are that big and widely used, I'd say contribute to the documentation or examples as much as you can. Then you can start looking at any up for grabs issues.

@JWood I'm trying to contribute to any data science related project such as pandas/keras. Could you please guide me how to understand the code base and actually contribute to it ?
