Here’s one of the last sightings of the Artimus launch today at the absolute limits of my 500 mm telephoto lens (cropped). The twin boosters fall away while the crewed portion of the space craft moved onward on its mission around the moon. Godspeed, astronauts.

The Artemis launch as seen from New Smyrna Beach. Large crowd cheered the giant rocket and its great, golden flame.

This is Canaveral National Seashore. It’s quiet today. Will be much busier tomorrow for the planned Artemis launch.

@BuzzPatterson I am a Vietnam vet and it was an overwhelmingly sad and powerful experience. Seeing my reflection on the polished wall with all those names gave me an indescribable feeling. Maybe a mixture of survivors guilt and gratitude for my life after the war.

My wife @MrsScottBaio was the emcee again this year for the Bradenton Women’s Club fashion show that benefited Pace center for girls. Bailey was also involved with this great organization. Living in a small town and giving back is meaningful to us.
