The MVP discourse is a bit annoying like all 4 players aren’t incredibly reasonable picks How all 4 close the season will be important but SGA/Luka/Wemby/Jokic are all having incredible seasons and there’s a legitimate argument for each player to win it in my opinion

@jjmaples55 Not just appearing it’s just becoming more normalized to analyze the past eras instead of just trusting existing narratives

I always understood the anti-Kobe stuff... he got some mentally unwell fans that's bound to create some friction... I don't get the anti Tim Duncan thing that magically appeared though lol

@hoopgoose Was tryna just get another S to encapsulate the twitch/burst/verticality limitations Tanner scares me when I see people talk about high lottery, but as a role player I have tons and tons of believe

@J_Pickup6 I don’t think he’s slow but agreed on the size, Tanner worries me more translation wise ngl

slowly getting back into hoop stuff, I’m looking at the draft and thinking this a good chance for the raptors to get a real nice point guard

@hoopgoose Just might see the top end pgs fly off the board before us, not fully sold on Anderson as our frp due to small/slight/slow guard concerns

@hoopgoose Mara still projected late first…Krivas/Chinyelu projected to be options for our 2nd CMB proving himself def sours any chance of me liking one of the more undersized/weak shooting 5s But one of those true 7 footers?

@J_Pickup6 Yea I been looking at JQ all year, it’s just I’m less into a big than before because of how well CMB has held in those mins but talent >>

@PenguinHoops which is prob where you get to the hali comp as he's the obv peak modern value of that type of point without being a trad creator theres just such clear shooting/passing/height gaps that make it harder to unlock that outlier (yes im calling it outlier) dev as a lead

@PenguinHoops ok point is not the right word, creator? I can imagine him as a role playing "point" whos mostly a ball mover/connective shooter, feed the star quick, participate in the drive and kick game next to better creators on the wing im not buying standstill rim pressure itl *that* much

Let’s! Firstly, I really dislike that so much of the discourse this cycle has centered around comparing him to Acuff. They’re different players with different strengths, weaknesses, and limiting factors.

@PenguinHoops he's a tov supprsr but he's not exactly a point in the league, at least not in the near future being an undersized basically combo on/off guard, you better prove the role player impact quick, or I dont see a reason to believe he gets enough dev reps to return that top 5-8 value

@PenguinHoops I don't think we much to prove that his feel -> skill dev paths are for sure unlocking offensive star traits and outpacing his playability if hes a bad defender y1? (very likely) if hes a middling shooter to start? (struggles against added length)

@PenguinHoops ok regardless, this reads to me as selling people on Tanner the lottery prospect, not the top 5 guy Maybe that's the primary goal for now, knowing how hard convincing people of the next level is but obv you're under a scope on this rn cause you took a stronger stance to start

@NateDuncanNBA Vegas has never been a good idea for an NBA team Keep it limited to SL

If expansion must happen (I'd prefer relocation personally) then Seattle is a no-brainer. But there are lots of markets that make a lot more sense to me than Las Vegas.

This is not to say I think Acuff will be a solid defender by any stretch But I think using motor arguments against young high load handling stars is just shaky ground to stand on longterm

Honestly this could be a Keyonte post more than an Acuff one People using defensive aios for high load guards on bad/tanking teams 😭

Two things can be true - yes Acuff prob will be the worst defender in the league next year (high pt/no motor/lottery team/rookie pg) - that current motor should not be an all encompassing indictment on his potential in a scaled down role 6 years from now
