Networking at events is often a war between your thoughts and what actually comes out of your mouth. If you ask what I do at an event, I’ll jokingly call myself a "fraud" just to break the ice and get us laughing😅. But since we're here, let’s skip the icebreakers: 👇 I’m Jennifer Scottbello, but I go by Jesdi (pronounced Jes-dee). I turn chaos into order. I coordinate designers, devs, event teams, and different contributors to make sure things don't fall apart and work actually gets done. I’m the one finding solutions when things get messy. Beyond project execution, I’m a builder at heart. I work with smart contracts and I’m growing into blockchain engineering, I’m deepening my technical foundation and learning how technology actually works behind the scenes. Fun fact about me: I’m heavily into movies. Horror, K-drama, sci-fi, Bollywood, Nollywood… basically everything. What started as relaxation turned into full-blown binge-watching. I’m trying to pick up a more productive hobby now; Crocheting. Fingers crossed it sticks. 🧶 I’d love to connect. What’s your name, what do you do, and one fun fact about you? 🫧

This week, I’m dropping a 1-hour conversation with @SarahWahinya, East Africa President @StellarOrg @BuildOnStellar Sarah is a Web3 and fintech growth strategist driving the expansion of emerging technologies across Africa. She discovered crypto in 2020, started trading, and turned $100 into $7000. That curiosity led her deeper into the technology, and she hasn’t looked back since. She’s now one of the key ecosystem leaders in Kenya. In this episode, we talk about: * Growing up as a first daughter and the responsibility that comes with it * Building trust as a foundation for meaningful work * Her journey from airport operations into crypto * Driving adoption as East Africa Lead for Stellar and the impact so far * A playbook for building cult-like communities * Her love for football, owning a local football club and plans to build a football academy * Building businesses that sustain your lifestyle (including her farm/ranch in Kenya) And a lot more. Podcast out this week!

I went down a rabbit hole trying to understand methodologies. Agile. Waterfall. Scrum. But the more I looked into it, the more confusing it got. Different sources were defining the same words in completely different ways. And that’s when I realized the problem wasn’t the definitions. It was how we think about how work is structured. A methodology shapes how you approach work. A framework shapes how that approach is carried out. What makes this even more interesting is how it plays out differently in project and product environments. And this pattern doesn’t stop in tech. The same ideas show up across different fields. This also gave me a clearer view of the difference between project and product management. I unpacked this here: check it out open.substack.com/pub/jesdijenni…

This week, I came across something called MBS, Minimum Buyable Solution. I am used to hearing MVP, Minimum Viable Product, the minimum version of a product people can use. The difference is subtle but important. MBS shifts the focus from “can this work” to “will someone actually pay for this”. Products can be usable, but not necessarily valuable enough for someone to pay for. This raises a question. Are founders creating products or building businesses? 💜
