A Public Plea for Justice & Equal Application of Rwandan Law For four years, my family has been fighting to reclaim our stolen home. This thread details a staggering pattern of obstruction of Justice, forgery, and a denial of justice that questions whether some are above the law. The Facts: The Crime: On 24th Feb 2022, individuals used a forged marriage certificate (confirmed by @IremboGov ), a fake sales agreement, a fake power of attorney, and impersonation to steal our property (UPI: 1/02/12/02/1889). Early Warnings: My father filed complaints with @RIB_Rw in Dec 2021 & Feb 2022 before the forgery, but investigators failed to act, allowing the crime to happen. Evidence Found: After a 17-month struggle, the @Lands_Rwanda provided us with the fraudulent documents on 29-30th Aug 2023. My father filed a new complaint with this irrefutable evidence on 31 Aug 2023, Investigators Failed to act, On 13th Oct 2023 National Land Authority Filed a complaint on behalf of my father, investigators failed us again. Systemic Obstruction: As A First Born after seeing all this Injustice, and how my disabled father (Wears a prosthetic leg) have struggled for years and also sold a car that helped him moving around seeking justice, he sold it so that we can get school fees and fees to pay lawyers, i filed a complaint on 14th March 2024, an investigator actively worked on the case, collected statements, And when the investigator was ready to make arrests in 2024, he was removed from the case by his superior. We were told our case was "buried" without explanation a clear obstruction of justice. Recent Developments: After a direct meeting with the SG of RIB and DG on 14 Nov 2025, the case was reopened. However, there is now a concerning focus on verifying an old, disputed loan rather than on the proven crimes of forgery and impersonation we have documented. The Legal Violations (Law No. 79/2023): - Art. 642: Personation (Impersonation) - Art. 607: Forgery - Art. 608: Fraud (Obtaining Property by Forgery) The Unjust Disparity & Our Plea: In other cases, suspects are swiftly detained on suspicion of forgery. In ours, with confirmed forgeries, the defendants remain free. This two-tiered system suggests powerful protection and corruption, And ignorance from the investigator who's assigned on this case, who have been ignoring my calls, i write to her doing follow-up she leaves me on read, and seeing how defendants are untouched and free yet we have evidence of crimes they committed, it raises my suspicions that they might be up to something, trying to protect these defendants like how it happened for 4 years. We are not asking for special treatment. We are Rwandan citizens demanding the equal application of justice promised to all. The 4-year delay itself is evidence of the suspects' power to interfere. Our Urgent Requests: To @RIB_Rw : Apply Article 12 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and place all defendants in provisional detention to prevent further obstruction, witness intimidation, and fleeing. To @ProsecutionRw & @Rwanda_Justice : Ensure this case is treated with the urgency it deserves and forwarded for prosecution without further delay. To All Institutions ( @YolandeMakolo @PrimatureRwanda @Rwanda_Justice @Dr_JNsengiyumva @eugirashebuja1 @angeliquehab @NirereMadeleine ): Investigate the officials who "buried" this case for years. Their actions constitute a grave breach of public trust. Me and my sister's education is on hold because of financial difficulties cause by this Land Fraud and injustice that followed. Our family lives in fear and financial hardship. We have done everything by the book. Now, we beg the institutions of Rwanda to do the same. The law is clear. The evidence is undeniable.
