At my local liberal elite coffee shop a millennial woman is in tears because she can’t afford private school tuition. She’s on speakerphone so everyone hears. She qualifies for food stamps. She is an immigrant and a lesbian. Everyone is waiting for her to get off the phone to console her. OK. BUT… she just spent $3,000 on airline tickets for a vacation and booked $400 meal one of the nights. And summer camp for her kids while she goes. Every millennial I know is absolutely addicted to travel to foreign nations. WTF. They talk about it like it’s a human right. Why the F can’t she put her kids into her Subaru and drive them to Florida like a normal person? Or the thousands of great coastal vacation spots between Bar Harbor Maine and Key West. Why is nobody suggesting this to her? And it’s not just her. My millennial friends who have money are constantly jumping on planes overseas. Like if they go more than two months without travel they start freaking out. I’m generation x. I don’t get it. Someone please explain this to me in crayons. I mean I love traveling too but holy crap does it get expensive fast. Are these people all just in crazy debt?

@johnkonrad No, but my point is US vacations aren’t cheap when you factor in accommodations and eating out. Grabbing a flight ticket cheaply or on points (not your neighbors case clearly) + being in a cheaper destination can outweigh what you would save by driving.

Yesterday I broke the original iPad Air from 2013. Fell on the ground. Broke. Never serviced. Original battery. Made in a world of iPhone 5s. Youtube does not work, but Youtube kids does. Also many simple games do. The repair was 2000 CZK ($100). Checked the alternatives. Literal garbage. Not interested. Paid for new display. Tried to buy new original case but guys in stores kinda laughed at this ancient tech. Served my wife during university. Served us as a camera before we bought our first iPhones, reader before our first Kindles. Served as a conference call device for several development teams during 2015/2016. Was my trading device with MT4. Served first born and second born. Countless times frozen in the car. Will serve our kids until they need their own device. 13 years of flawless service history and counting. This level of engeneering is just fascinating. Never expected that $500 Apple device delivers this.

@Pick53766 @the_coral_lea Purpose of air (or any) travel is to move from point A to point B. So, everyone has the same “problem”. There’s no guarantee you won’t be disturbed. Get a pair of noise cancelling phones like the rest of us or fly private if it’s unbearable.

V roce 2002 stál roční kupón na MHD 3800 Kč. Pak za Béma se cena normálně zvedala až došla na 4750 Kč. V roce 2015 to Krnáčová populsuticky snížila na 3650 Kč a od té doby se cena nehla. Sorry, ale je totálně směšný, aby dnes byl kupón levnější než před čtvrt stoletím.

For the kids who are too young to remember, you used to be able to get basically full, complete coverage above a max of $5,000 (aka “catastrophic coverage”) for 90 bucks a month before Obama made it “affordable.”

For shits and giggles, I decided to see just how hard it would be to replace my birth certificate, Social Security card, AND my marriage license, since Democrats think women are too stupid to figure it out. Here's how it went: 1. Birth certificate: Contacted the health department of the county where I was born. They OVERNIGHTED a certified copy to me the next day - total cost, $14. 2. SS Card: Contacted Social Security on their site. They asked if I was sure I needed the card, since I 'won't likely be asked for it.' I went ahead and got it - took five business days to arrive - total cost, $0. 3. Marriage License: Went to the 'vital docs' site of the county where we were hitched. Filled everything out online, arrived in three days - total cost, $5. It cost less than $20 to obtain all three certified/legal documents, and it took less than five business days to receive them. Note: if I had lived where I was born or married, it would have been a day. Tops. Anyone telling you this is too hard or unfair is lying and hiding the real reason they want to stop Voter ID. I know you guys knew that already... lol
