This, of course, is disingenuous. There are good points you could make about problems with prediction markets and it should be regulated. But this is just click bait meant to enrage.
Here’s how you know:
- Imagine you have 10000 betters betting on a 50/50 contract
- 9998 each bet $1 with each other
- 2 bet $1M with each other
1 person in this example makes 99% of the winnings! Is that a rigged system?
This is an environment where skilled and knowledgeable people will win more over time, like stocks, pokers and sports betting.
It should be regulated to protect consumers, like those industries. But it is not scamming anyone.
