Ok Voice Actors. Please, if you are working with an audio engineer, or production studio, please send your audio RAW, especially if you have good equipment, like a Neumann TLM 103. If there is processing prior to, it may deteriorate the audio, and makes our job impossible.

@MalwareVTuber @Qupid_Hart Editing is fine, like picking your takes, removing some breaths, and trimming. It is when you EQ, Spectral De-noise or "Normalize" the audio when you are part of a project with a Audio Engineer that is a part of the project.

@MikeCiporkin Yes and I want to add, processing an audition is one thing. That can be processed. I am more speaking to when you have been cast in a project or are uploading samples for a company/ agency that already has an engineer on staff.

If a trained ear can hear that you (over) processed your audio, then you’re ‘doing it wrong’.
There *is an acceptable amount of post-processing that makes even audition audio into “broadcast quality”…. In the end, it’s about being as *transparent as possible.

@CircuitPulseVT Still RAW. We have plugins to make it sound professional. By editing it, it makes it harder for us engineers to work our magic. I would rather have the voice actor work on the acting, not the processing.

This is one of the reasons why I love Brandon Sanderson. I highly recommend watching this video where he talks and breaks down why he is against AI art. The main lesson that is taught within the storm light archives is one that applies to everything. "Journey before Destination."
I can honestly make an entire video why I look up to and respect Brandon Sanderson. He is an honorable author who has made mistakes and has continued to learn from them, and I feel like we need to uplift these kinds of people more.
