We shouldn't allow anybody to become a citizen before they are old enough to understand the Pledge of Allegiance and make it publicly before a judge or magistrate without purpose of evasion no matter where they were born. The literal interpretation of the 14th Amendment is outmoded by modern circumstances. It was unforeseen in 1868 that we would be invaded by land, sea and air with millions of illegal migrants. Our strict immigration laws have failed to control our borders recently, and we should be able to deny citizenship to the children of those who shouldn't be here.
