It's proper dodgy for safety. Was on the train the other day, some roadman with his face fully masked sitting right next to this young girl. She looked proper scared eyes darting all over, arms crossed tight. No idea what was going through her head but you could tell she wasn't comfy at all.
If you don't see why that's messed up, you're having a laugh.
Not just about burqas or whatever same rule for everyone. Balaclavas, hoods pulled right up, ski masks, all of it. No special passes for religion or "it's my culture".
Can't deal with showing your face? Cool, go live somewhere that's fine with it. Most of Europe already banned this shit years ago: France, Belgium, Austria, Denmark, Switzerland just made it nationwide last year, Portugal jumped on too. They're not Arab countries either. They're saying nah, in public we need to see who we're dealing with security, CCTV, not feeling threatened on the bus or train, basic stuff.
We ain't one of those places. Our default is faces out. If that's too much for you, plenty of other spots on the map. Simple.
