She circled the store multiple times, picked up six plush toys including a Bashful Bunny and an Amuseables Peanut in a space rodeo outfit, and slipped them into her bag. Carol then grabbed crisps and dip as a distraction before paying at the till for the smaller items. She admitted the theft was to help pay tax debts owed to HMRC from a former business. At Crewe Magistrates’ Court she changed her plea to guilty after being shown CCTV and was fined £162, ordered to pay £265 costs, a victim surcharge and £160 compensation.
