Watch as police officers confront a man suspected of carrying out a terrorist attack in north London where two men were stabbed.
The suspect refused to show his hands, was violent and continued to pose a clear threat. Using only their training, courage and tasers, they detained him while he continued to try to attack and stab them. This took true courage.

I'm proud to have worked with Inspector Gary Schofield.
He's spent 14 years on the Territorial Support Group. He's a dedicated professional. He is a Public Order Bronze Commander, a Post Incident manager & a negotiator.
He is a loss to the Metropolitan Police & will be missed.

I first met this chap in 2023 on a visit to TSG! He’s now retiring after 30 years of policing London. Today we caught up in the sunshine to walk and talk! We spoke about policing and also what retirement looks and feels like......

Nothing quite says ‘leaving do’ like your old Area Car driver travelling down to see you and bringing the most fitting gift possible.
A decade ago in 2016 I had my first Area Car posting and it’s safe to say I was nervous. I spent my whole probation on different neighbourhood teams, so finally being on Response and getting posted in the Area Car really meant a lot. My team mates told me to buy the driver a coffee and ‘wiggly worms’ from BP when we filled the car up.
So I did, and my now wonderful friend said; “Good Lad open them up then”.
Eager to please, I burst open the packet all over the dashboard and both of us.
Expecting to be ejected from the car at a rate of knots, instead he laughed, we cleared them up and I bought a fresh bag. Over the next few years he taught me what Hendon never could; the reality of Policing London.
As we said goodbye last night, he put his hand in his pocket, pulled out a packet of ‘wiggly worms’, handed them to me, laughed and walked off into the night.
I will miss the people terribly, not The Job.

And just like that, 12 years, 2 medals, a whole bunch of memories and wonderful friends later; I’m done.
Policing you were my childhood dream.
I’m so proud to have been one of you and do my small bit.
You’ll always be part of me, but time to live and move on. #ThinBlueLine 🚨

9 years.
9 years since we were heading towards the end of early turn and heard the most horrendous news.
9 years since the best of us was murdered upholding their oath.
9 years, remembered every single day since.
9 years, since we lost PC Keith Palmer GM. 🫡

It’s safe so say that sometimes we don’t appreciate how much can happen in 48 hours.
A message to you all from a very grateful Superintendent. 🫡

@Brick_Cop @ukhomeoffice Aid requirement from front line cops is so high we’re a quarter of the way through the year and the number of days I’ve spent on my patch doing my ‘day job’ is still in single digits 🤯

The reality is, they aren’t ‘Riot Police’ they’re Response and Neighbourhood Officers who should be on their boroughs, responding to 999 calls and looking after their communities. 🤷🏼♂️
What we know for sure though, is whatever happens it’ll be The Met’s fault. 👀

Alright if @PFEW_HQ won’t say anything, I will.
I’m appalled by today’s outcome on behalf of our colleagues who responded and the investigating Officers who worked tirelessly to put the charges and files together.
I sincerely hope our injured colleague is being properly supported at this really challenging time and that an appeal is well on the way and a retrial will take place.
What I would say to you all, is what you already know.
We have a job to do. No one else will do it and if we give up, no matter how we’re treated then the most vulnerable will sincerely suffer.
So we keep working and we keep pushing in the naive hope that this horrible mess will sort itself out and never happen again.
Thank you all for what you did today and like my team, what you will do tonight to keep the public safe; take criminals off the streets and do what we joined to do.

Stop the world, I’d like to get off please.
How on earth could a jury not find a verdict on GBH with intent?
It’s on camera.
There is no lawful excuse of ‘defending someone with a sledgehammer’.
🤦🏼♂️
Who would want to be a Police Officer?

We've published details of Public Order Act conditions in place for protests in central London tomorrow. We'd ask anyone attending to familiarise themselves with them.
Of note, a march by UKIP originally planned for Whitechapel will now go from Marble Arch to Trafalgar Square.
