Day to day duties: Inpatient multi-d rounding, avg daily team census ~ 8 patients, academic teaching, educating patients and medical team, reviewing physician orders, ensuring labs, pre-medications and adjusted doses are implemented. DM for questions.

@PhilipJacobson_ I can definitely relate. College athletics, pharmD, 2 residencies. I lost track of major hobbies during residency. Rekindling those connections and hobbies. I’m still working on that work/live integration though. Good time to relax a little and then set new goals! 😊

@GhanaboyPharmd I was a new grad and I was staffing inpatient pharmacy. The call was urgent for a statin. I was like 👀 an urgent statin? 🤔 Looking and no dice. She says “this is ridiculous. It’s a drip. It’s sandostatin.” I dispensed a drip and off we went. I got a call later apologizing! 🤭

I have been asked to provide a LOR for a staff pharmacist to sit for a BPS exam. Reviewing the requirements, the practice experience route is based on the content outline. How are others navigating this requirement for staff pharmacists to sit for BPS exam? @ASHPOfficial @BPSweb

@EMToxRx There are very few protocols to allow autonomy for interventions for staff pharmacists here. Role is verification/product checking. Clinical team does the PK, renal, and rounding. The pt to pharmacist ratio is 40:1 for staffing. No decent role, yet. No clinical ladder program.

Is there harm in sitting for a BPS exam with only staffing experience? Does staffing duties check the box to meet the context outline? Does staffing equal the 50% practice experience? Genuinely curious how others navigate this situation. TIA!
