I got invited out next weekend and declined because I have my niece and nephews that weekend. I was called a mug for looking after them fortnightly without fail. It's nothing new, I've heard it a lot over the past nine years and it's water off a duck's back. The truth is, there's a kid shaped whole in my life, and it's been the same since my 20s. However, having my own wasn't for me. This is not to look down or criticise anyone raising kids well, all power to you, you're awesome. These are my own personal hangups. As a gay man, there are pretty much three options. 1. Have a baby with a lady who really wants one, but doesn't have a long term partner of her own 2. Adoption 3. Surrogacy Firstly, I would want to be with my kids every single day until the day they left home to make their own way. I'm in a long term relationship and all living together is completely unrealistic and not for me. It would never last. Secondly, If I adopted a baby I am making the decision for the child to not have a mother. That's not something I could do. Like I said, I'm not throwing shade on anyone else's situation, it's just not for me. I've seen the bond between mothers and their kids in my life and making a decision that excludes that opportunity is something I would be doing for me, not the child. Thirdly, I find the whole idea of buying and selling babies a child-trafficking abomination. Never happening. It should be illegal. So, I'm a REALLY good uncle knobhead instead. I dedicate 26 weekends to them every single year, and will continue to do so until they decide otherwise. I'm very happy with my life. I get to be the fun uncle with no rules ❤️

IDK. But, I’m used to it. I lost religious family for being gay when I came out to them. I lost more family for refusing to get the shots of 2021. I tried to keep up, but, my calls went unanswered and texts never responded to until I finally gave up.

@RoyPentland Yes I forgot about the infrastructure challenges with 500kV to domestic voltage. Not trivial transformers and impractical for individual farmers. Not very injaneur-like of me.🤦‍♂️ My excuse is not having done any high voltage work or theory for decades.

@JacksAUstats Transmission of 500kV isn’t useable along the way. It goes from one terminal station to another, or to a main area switch yard. It is transformed down to distribution (88kV) to zone substations, then to 415V & 240V to users. /2

I am somewhat envious of what can be achieved these days with phone cameras and AI. Had I had these 20+ years ago, I could have made far cheaper TVCs for my clients. That said, the one below is a little poor, since backgrounds haven't been synched in, the water droplets in relation to the wheel size give away the dimensions, and so on.

@AnotherHomoCon I think after Elon fired the worst of the woke lot, the remaining ones started employing them again. Our experience can be much worse, with accounts permanently suspended. It happened to me a lot with previous accounts. They still threaten me often with suspension.
