Leaders consume knowledge and never change behavior. You read books. You take courses. You understand concepts. Nothing changes in how you actually lead. Knowledge stays theoretical because you never move beyond learning. The Cycle of Mastery has five steps that move from knowledge to capability: Learn, Practice, Reflect, Adjust, Integrate. Real development occurs in practice and reflection. Not in consuming more content. You learn by doing and evaluating what worked. You adjust based on results. You refine your approach through repeated cycles. Commit to working through all five steps with one focus area. Most leaders stop after learning. They collect insights without application. Some get to practice but never reflect or adjust. Few integrate. Integration means the capability becomes your default behavior. You don't think about it anymore. It's how you naturally operate. The improvement is permanent because it's internalized. Run the full cycle. One capability at a time.
