Thank you to Hoover High School for hosting the Opportunity Fair. It was a valuable day for our students to explore future pathways through interviews, conversations with Stark County employers, and opportunities to connect with college and military representatives. Our school counselors also took part in professional development alongside community partners and fellow counselors from across the area. Experiences like this help students learn, ask thoughtful questions, and take meaningful steps toward what comes next. We are grateful for opportunities that support both our students and staff. #PolarBearPride

Looking for a fun way to get your child moving this spring? The Jackson Youth Run Club is a great opportunity for students in grades K-5 to build confidence, stay active, and learn the basics of running in a supportive environment. Practices will be held Thursdays from April 9-30 from 4:45-5:30 p.m. at the Strausser Elementary track, with meets on April 12, April 19, April 26, and May 3. The cost is $54, payable to Jackson Cross Country Parents. Registration is open now. Programs like this help our youngest learners grow, connect, and become part of Jackson’s strong running tradition from an early age. #PolarBearPride

Jackson High School Student Services recently gave students a valuable career-learning experience through a partnership with MentorStark. During a visit to Employer’s Health, students heard from employees about their unique career paths and learned from Chairman, President, and CEO Chris Goff about the company’s work and the importance of building social capital. Experiences like this help students connect classroom learning to future opportunities while building the relationships and skills that matter beyond high school. Two Jackson High School seniors have earned a place in the 2026 Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition — one of the state’s highest honors for high school artists. Out of 5,786 entries submitted by approximately 2,100 students across Ohio, only 250 works were selected. Congratulations to Amelia Nonnamaker and Ray Cho on this outstanding achievement. Amelia had several jewelry pieces accepted, including her 3-piece series Gilded Heirlooms and her neckpiece Box of Misfits. Ray had her digital painting Fish selected for the exhibition. This recognition speaks to their talent, hard work, and the meaningful learning opportunities available to students at Jackson High School. We are proud to celebrate Amelia and Ray for representing our school community so well. #PolarBearPride

With more than 75 crafters, food trucks, Easter-themed items, spring décor, handmade gifts, and a visit from the Easter Bunny, this event is a great way to support local makers and enjoy time with the Jackson community.
