Wembanyama prioritizing playing the G League Warriors over Kawhi and the Clippers in this B2B is an interesting choice. Think the Spurs are going to need him more for the latter opponent. Tonight feels like the first time in a while that San Antonio could lose a game

1) Only needs to play 3 of the remaining 5 games after this to be eligible for awards
2) Last back-to-back of the season

A byproduct of Spurs opponents never getting anything at the rim is they struggle to offensive rebound unless they have an Adams/Robinson type. Victor has 13 drebs in 15 mins tonight. Oh, and 25 points.

But I watched the Warriors get a lot of open threes last night through their post up/split cut action and thought if this was Curry or moody, or even Porziņģis, the Spurs might be in trouble.

This may sound crazy but I honestly believe it.
When teams play the spurs, I think they should attempt 55-65 3 pt attempts a games. It’s so pointless the run your traditional offense of getting a paint touch just to run into Wemby and get stuck. Just scrap it.
Play 5 shooters and bring Wemby out to the perimeter with PnP’s and off ball screens. There’s a real weakness there. You’ll either get open 3’s and fire away or Wemby will over commit and you get driving lanes.
I’m surprised more teams haven’t done this, but I guess they don’t have the shot making. I think a healthy warriors or Celtics team could pull this off. Knicks & Thunder too with the right lineups
