🚨An AI Coalition of 60 civic and advocacy groups is asking @AGRobBonta to investigate the multibillion-dollar agreement to buy computing capacity from Cerebras Systems.
Sam Altman & Greg Brockman are both large personal investors in Cerebras. Greg testified under oath that he concealed his personal stake from @elonmusk.
The coalition told AG Bonta that these equity positions constitute “evidence of self-dealing.”
OpenAI’s spending helped drive Cerebras’ valuation from roughly $8 billion to $23 billion. The company is now going public at a valuation near $30 billion.
This is exactly the kind of self-dealing transaction California law prohibits under Corporations Code § 5233 — and why the AG should investigate.
