People who say that Michael B. Jordan got a sympathy Oscar need to chill out and I’m not even the biggest fan of the performance. But it’s clear that a lot of people feel passion for it. After Chalamet, he was the close no. 2 for critics. It’s clearly not a Jamie Lee Curtis win.

We’re in our 4th decade of the n-word spreading into popular culture as a non-pejorative way some black people address each other. Why are we still pretending that a non-black person imitating this usage has the viciousness of its original pejorative meaning?
