@savethespeedway Too big too fast. It’d be one thing if they just bought a few drag strips. But they went after damn near every drag strip that isn’t NHRA affiliated, made this boating series, made this stock car series, and then bought Rockingham and Memphis. They were bound to run out of money.

NASCAR estimates drying should be complete by 11:45 p.m. ET with no more rain. Drivers will report to their cars prior to that time.

There is no right thing to do here. If anything, everybody should be angry at TNT. They dictate the start time. Should have started one hour earlier.

@HighGrooveA @jeff_gluck It doesn’t seem feasible. For one thing that water still has to go somewhere once it’s time to get the tarp up. It would go onto the track. Another problem is you would have to delay the race further ahead of time to give them time to lay it down. It’d be so gigantic

@jeff_gluck Still doesn’t make sense to me why NASCAR tracks don’t use giant tarps to cover the racing surface during rain delays. It seems like it would be more efficient and probably cheaper than relying on jet dryers.

@ChaseElliott_24 @NASCAR TNT sucks. Knowing this rain was coming any other TV provider probably would have let them move it up an hour. That’s the problem. The TV provider dictates the start time. NASCAR probably asked TNT and they said no.
