I've been writing a set of smart contracts for a project and we wanted to add a "memo" to transactions. This actually seems to have been a really decent approach to the problem. It essentially wraps the transfer and attaches the "memo" to it. So far, it seems to be working pretty well. Our UI is properly able to filter and display the relevant details of transactions. The next version will be adding a "memo" to ANY smart contract interaction as you can see with the MemoCaller. However I haven't tested it yet, but aim to do so very soon. Would love to hear your opinion on this appraoch. Again, for our case, this has proven to be an exceptional solution.

ERC-20 is the worst thing that ever happened to Ethereum. I hate it. I have had to built around it for years. Thus, I wrote a hit piece on ERC-20. Here's the TLDR on why the standard is terrible: 1.) You cannot attach information to a transfer This makes programmatically building logic on erc20 payments impossible. That's really dumb. 2.) approve(). Self-explanatory. 3.) ERC-20 and Ether are both "coins", but they are different. This is very very very confusing for normies and makes for horrible UX. Read my full hit piece on the worst standard in Ethereum history here: hugo0.com/blog/how-erc20…

Go browse /r/mmorpg, you’ll see much of the same thing going on there. Everyone is in a subreddit centered around mmorpg’s but they all claim all mmorpg’s suck. Any new game that comes out sucks for X, Y, and Z reasons. There is something to be said in terms of mmorpgs, that they’re golden (nostalgic?) era is dead. Maybe the same with crypto’s nostalgic (profitable?) era is dead. It’s probably a very complex dynamic, and I’m sure it’s the same with crypto’s dynamic. There’s several levers and cogs in play about the bigger picture. Idk there’s so much more to dissect between all of that. But thought this would be worth sharing. Maybe a fun afternoon activity for someone to explore deeper!

agree with this that the current product strategy of building for existing users is cooked disagree completely with the angle that the future of crypto depends on us building products that hide crypto from the end users imagine saying "the Internet doesn’t win by turning the world into Internet natives. It wins when nobody has to be Internet-native to benefit from it." this ignores that the Internet's greatest product (social media) is centered around Internet-native culture the future is products that are uniquely possible with crypto and so good people will push past their preconceived notions about the industry to use them

@poidhxyz @eth_call Happens to the best of us! A natural part for the evolution of many apps. Confident that the redeployments will patch up the holes and be more secure! If you're looking for extra eyes on their development, then glad to lend a hand!

UPDATE: while investigating the original incident, @eth_call discovered another possible exploit we have emptied the contract of remaining user funds, and all users will have their funds returned in full users impacted by the original exploit will also be fully refunded please DO NOT interact further with the poidh app at this time the contracts will redeployed, and we will announce when everything is fully operational once again thank you to everyone who has supported and trusted us now and in the past we'll be back, and we'll learn from these mistakes

🚨 URGENT 🚨 poidh experienced an exploit on our Base contract earlier today via this transaction: basescan.org/tx/0x0545a4e58… for the time being, DO NOT deposit any funds into the app it appears like this exploit targeted bounties where there was a single bounty contributor, bounties with multiple contributors are still stable at this time however, we highly recommend cancelling any bounties with multiple contributors that are still live (we have tested this, and funds were returned directly to bounty contributor wallets as designed) we will continue to update as we learn more and plan to fully refund all impacted bounty creators

jacobhomanics.itch.io/world-of-gotchi Finished the endless RPG for a game jam! It utilizes the Unity SDK to bring the gotchi's alive! The game is an action RPG heavily inspired by WoW game design. Would love if you took the time to play it, rate it in the game jam, and provided feedback! Hoping to expand on the idea and even add actual Web3 elements to it! @aavegotchi @coderdannn

@songadaymann @rarible From past experiences with them and opensea, their testnets cache metadata at a significantly lower rate (even if you hit the manual refresh buttons). Sometimes it could take up to a day or something. Maybe that’s what’s going on? You’re certain your metadata is set up correctly?

i cannot get anything to render - at all - on @rarible testnet. been using it for weeks (months?) with no problems, but it's as if the metadata is just not being picked up. anyone else having this issue?

@JacobHomanics super weird, just did a test claim on my end and worked fine I'd give it a break then retry after, or try uploading via the Farcaster Warplet (usually works best these days)

@JacobHomanics ahh are you trying to submit with the same wallet that created the bounty? need to switch to a different wallet if so otherwise, a disconnect, refresh, reconnect should work!
