I’ve had people tell me that he’d have immediately gotten interviews if the Colts would have fired him. And I don’t doubt it. (Side note: This tweet isn’t about Chris Ballard, so please stick to the subject!)

Unpopular opinion among Colts fans who wanted to blow it up, but w 10 NFL coaching changes, firing Shane Steichen would’ve left the Colts in a tough spot. Not sure how you assume they’d have gotten a clear upgrade. Ask around the NFL and people believe Shane is a solid coach.

@HolderStephen Bingo. Can’t wait for Dan Dakich (@dandakich) respond to your tweet with some ignorant bullshit about how the Indy Media is the Colts puppet.

@JakeArthurNFL I feel like you and others are meshing Shanes 3 years with Franks run. Retained everyone, hoping year 10 will be different. Keeping Ballard is one thing, but why on gods green earth would we fire Shane?

The Ravens, Steelers, and Bills are all perennial playoff teams who let go of their head coaches because just getting to the postseason wasn’t good enough. The Colts retained everyone, hoping Year 10 will be different, despite just two playoff appearances since 2018.

@JacobWise25 @HolderStephen @KrisWG23 Your wideouts are bad because of the QB, downs Pittman ap warren is one of the best units in the afc. You’re mistaking a lack of production with a lack of talent but the truth is Daniel jones sucks.

The Texans’ win over the Chargers means the Colts are officially eliminated from the postseason for the fifth straight year. 😬

@mattyrogggz @HolderStephen @KrisWG23 We didn’t have a great tight end until this year, and our wide outs minus AP have been ass this year. And last year they were all mid. You’re lost pal

@JacobWise25 @HolderStephen @KrisWG23 Yes, with exception of QB the colts have the best offensive unit in the afc south and I’d argue better than all of afc east and north as well. Taylor is arguably the best rb in the conference and the offensive line is a top 5 unit. Those WRs and TEs make up a GREAT unit.

@JacobWise25 @HolderStephen @KrisWG23 The team he inherited is one of the better rosters in the afc. Including great weapons, a good offensive line, and an above average defensive line. If your argument is that the only way he can be judged is in pristine conditions then good luck!

@JacobWise25 @HolderStephen @KrisWG23 If that’s what you have to believe to make yourself feel better then so be it. I actually like him as a play caller but he’s not cut out for HC duties.

@PatMcAfeeShow I’m with you on Zaire, some of the other bums, but we’re flirting with losing a good HC bc of a bad GM. But you won’t publicly say that

I will say, the one time #Colts GM Chris Ballard went all in, it went all wrong. Daniel Jones tore his Achilles, Anthony Richardson Sr. broke his face, Charvarius Ward Sr. suffered three concussions, Sauce Gardner injured his calf and DeForest Buckner needs neck surgery. Wow.

It’ll be a very interesting #Colts offseason, to say the least. Questions at the franchise’s three most important positions/titles: GM, HC and QB. FWIW, I don’t think anything really changed tonight. Playoffs were just a funny talking point. Dagger was the loss in Seattle.

@HolderStephen Agree. Times running out for Latu - had a few major games but had some no shows also. Times up for Paye. Secondary is there. Most had this year as a rebuild year, overshot that early. Can’t imagine firing Shane. Would be a wild overreaction.

@JacobWise25 If they run it back, I presume you’ll see them attack the weaknesses in FA the way they did last year (big money in the secondary). They thought they’d be better at edge but turned out to be wrong. Gotta fix it. Secondary has elite potential.
