☀️ MINDFIX MORNING DEVOTIONAL May 22, 2026 Take the High Road Proverbs 15:1 “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” As you start your day, especially if you spend any time online, remember this... not everything deserves your reaction. Social media is built to pull emotion out of you. Rage bait, fear headlines, comment wars, insults, half-truths, and people arguing just to argue. It is designed to get you stirred up before you even realize what is happening. That is why you have to pause. Your first emotional reaction is not always wisdom. Sometimes it is just a warning light. It tells you something hit a nerve, but it does not mean you need to speak from that place. Anger may alert you, frustration may reveal something, and irritation may show you where your patience is being tested, but none of those emotions should be handed the microphone before your spirit has a chance to speak. A lot of people ruin their peace because they respond too fast. They type before they think, speak before they process, and then spend the rest of the day carrying the weight of words they should have never released. That is not strength. That is being controlled by the moment. Taking the high road does not mean you are weak. It means you are disciplined. It means you are strong enough to step back, check your heart, and ask, “Is this worth my peace? Is this the right response? Am I about to speak from wisdom, or am I just reacting because my emotions are loud?” That question can save you from a lot. Today, before you respond to the headline, the comment, the insult, the drama, or the person trying to pull you down into the mud, pause. Think about what you are thinking about. Check the emotion before it becomes a reaction. Be the bigger person, not because they deserve it, but because you do. And tonight, when your head hits the pillow, you will feel better knowing you did not let the noise make you someone you are not. 🕊 Declaration: I will not be controlled by rage, fear, or reaction. I will pause, think clearly, and choose the high road. 🙏 Prayer: God, help me slow down before I react. Give me wisdom when emotions rise and discipline when the world tries to pull me into anger.
