Ok this gives me some peace of mind. Good to know. Because it has also been the least expected challenge in developing my own product. I thought the design would be the hardest part but the finish has been a pain in the ass. And it makes an ENORMOUS difference in how people perceive the product. And Apple has raised the bar a lot. I, myself, went into things aiming for my aluminum cardholder to have a finish like a MacBook Pro. Little did I know how much goes into achieving that finish

Question for manufacturing friends, how does one achieve fantastic finishes at scale? E.g. polished steel, or brushed, but at a luxury-watch level Are there machines that can achieve this or is it going to be mostly manual?

haha. i realize am extremely lucky to be in the spot i am. i hope it continues to stay this good. that’s not to say it was always good. in some regards i’ve retardmaxxed my way to where i am now. wake up, work hard, enjoy the ride, adapt as things change rather than try to force an outcome.

Thank you. The important part is zeroing out taxes on the bottom half. Best way to put money in someone’s pocket is to not take it out in the first place. Bottom half is only 3% of total tax revenue. But it’s very meaningful to that person. Zero it out.

Facts It's great that Jeff Bezos thinks this way, because too many people who don't make money think that giving money to the government will solve a lot of their problems. They think these government programs are the answer, and it's clearly not. You can look at the federal level or at the state level, and you will see that a lot of government programs are simply waste.

Jeff Bezos said the bottom half of Americans should pay zero federal income tax. He cited a nurse in Queens making ~$75K and paying ~$12K in taxes saying “we shouldn’t be asking this nurse in Queens to send money to Washington.”

@PhuckYourVax Looks to me like a full tank of gas. Gas is sooooo flammable. Just a small cup of it makes a massive fireball so an entire gas tank is going to be absolutely insane if there's enough oxygen.

@simonkalouche The thing about the humanoid is that you can have it sorting packages but then you could also tell it to go clean the bathroom and when it's done make you a burrito

Unfortunately Frank, Rose, Bob and Gary the humanoids all just lost their jobs to a pair of faster, lower cost, more reliable robot arms. Superhuman robots will beat humanoids for every industrial application with scale.

@bernhardsson Phone addiction operates on the same neural pathways as any other addiction. If your logic was true (natural selection will remove addicts from the gene pool) then drug addictions shouldn't really exist today. Phones take advantage of reward pathways required for human survival

Uber is going to be bought by Google/Waymo, Amazon or Tesla/SpaceX in the next year. For a “buy it now” price of $250b, one of those three companies gets a $12b a year free cash flow machine with $70b in revenue — and hundreds of millions of global customers This is the most obvious M&A deal since Instagram, Android and YouTube transformed Meta and Google Discuss

@RepPatHarrigan So why does the military even bother buying them if you can just 3-D print them? Just cut out the supplier. Simple economics. Don't complain to congress about 😂

For 20 years, a $6 knob that takes one hour to 3D print has been grounding Black Hawk helicopters four times a month, and the contractor responsible won't sell us the part or the IP rights to fix it ourselves. So instead, American taxpayers have been paying $40,000 every single time to replace the entire system, multiplied by four times a month, for two decades. That is NOT a procurement problem, that is a shakedown, and it is exactly why right to repair has to be in this year's NDAA.
