Just voted for the Deporting Fraudsters Act, because right now you can be convicted of stealing Social Security benefits, committing SNAP fraud, and running schemes against taxpayer funded programs and still remain in this country and apply for immigration relief.

Here is something worth understanding about what is happening in the Middle East right now.
China imports up to 57% of its oil through the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran has the capacity to shut that strait down entirely. A US aligned Iran changes that equation, and at a moment when the competition between Washington and Beijing is more serious than it has been in decades, that kind of leverage matters enormously.
This is the same reason Trump wants China out of the Panama Canal, the same reason Venezuela keeps coming up, the same reason a Greenland that openly supports US interests matters. It is all connected to energy, and energy is the defining leverage point of this era. Whoever controls access to it has real power over what comes next, and China understands that better than most, which is why they are building nuclear reactors and domestic energy capacity at a scale most Americans are not paying attention to.
There are real costs to this war and none of this is simple, but the strategic picture here is a lot bigger than what is making the headlines.

The technological advantages the United States has maintained for decades are eroding around the margins with the proliferation of capable yet inexpensive technologies deployed at scale.
The vast majority of products we procure across the defense industrial base are far too expensive. Complicating matters, we are now entering a time where the startup pitch of ‘it’s 3x cheaper than the system you currently buy’ won’t be good enough.
The question every company in the defense space needs to ask themselves over and over as we align capabilities to threats is ‘how much should this capability cost?’ Because our enemies are asking that question out of necessity, and we are operating from an excess that does not square with our national debt.
We must win the economics of war. If we do not, the only advantage we will have is denied strike, and the United States will fundamentally be incapable of protracted conflict without suffering the financial oblivion of the Soviet Union.
