People who do this will never get my support. Of course Rai is not English ethnicity. He’s English nationality though, as is everyone who is born here. And he’s therefore a British citizen. I don’t want an England just for white people. I want an England of people with a shared cultural and moral framework we all sign up to. My objection to “multiculturalism” is that incompatible cultures - are incompatible. I BELIEVE in the “melting pot”. Why? Because it’s worked well before. Integrating cultures is how England came to be (side note - my genetic heritage is extremely skewed to Viking vs the average Brit. How I do not know). America - in general - forged an American unity out of different communities coming together, taking the good bits, and creating something that was (at least for a while, sigh) - better than the sum of its parts. This however is “ethnonationalism” - which I DO reject, because I don’t care what colour your skin is or where you’re grandparents come from, so long as you are willing to enthusiastically embrace the shared moral framework of this country. This isn’t even about immigration either. People born in this country are not immigrants. The problem we currently have is 1- immigration both illegal and legal being an unmanaged mess but 2- a complete failure of many groups, some of which are actually home grown “white” cultures, completely failing to integrate around a set of *shared values*. And this guy and his family clearly have. I mean… winning at golf is KIND OF a clue. 🙄
