@xespool @asherhdfc Bro McGlynn is not a 4th defender. He’s just the deeper lying midfielder between him and whoever plays next to him. Part of the 3 in the back formation is also having him drop back deep to distribute the ball. I’m not saying the formation is the best but that’s how it works

Gotta say, I don’t think Markanich was malicious, but that was absolutely a red all day. Wanted to prove himself and get to the ball, but you’ve gotta hop outta there when the keeper beats you to it.

With Artur injured and Bouzat suspended, I’d love to see Gilberto Rivera get loaned up to the first team, and would even like to what he could do with stoppage time minutes.
Has been a standout on Dos. Smart player with a helluva engine.

Cubo was a disappointment. Never looked like the player we thought we bought. Never mattered much to the market in terms of excitement or attendance.

Erick Cubo Torres - From Zero to Hero
Dynamo acquired Cubo in 2015 from Chivas USA as a DP. It took an astounding 2(!) seasons to net his first goal.
Revitalized under William Cabrera, Houston took the victory in their first game of 2017 against Seattle Sounders, with the Mexican striker scoring his first goal in over 2 seasons, and his first in Orange.
I’ll never forget that wave of relief that flooded through Torres after the goal; it was palpable through the TV. Cubo went on to finish the season with 14 goals, his career best. A like able story.
What are your thoughts on Cubo’s time in Houston?

I suspect (unconfirmed) Aliyu’s transfer fee is no longer a factor in his cap hit. Important bc moving him out of the u22 spot would only mean an extra 300K cap charge. Doable.
