Baseball saved my life.
7 years ago I quit baseball with no intentions on returning. I left Northeast Texas CC in the fall semester and moved back home. I spent the entire year depressed and wondering what have I done. I left the single most important thing to me and I thought it was over. I got into trouble, got in with the wrong crowd, ruined my passions, desires, body, health, and most importantly my relationship with God.
One night God woke me up with vomiting, and for the very first time I heard him. 2 simple words, “Keep playing”. I didn’t know exactly what was happening, but I laid down and cried with prayer. I cussed out God and blamed him for everything. Through my harsh words still all I heard was “Keep playing”.
So I returned. @TCSPostGrad took me in and I don’t think I’ve ever said this, but y’all saved me. TCS saved me from ruining my life more then I had already caused myself. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Then @TJCBaseball. Tyler holds a special place in my heart. My time at TJC shaped me into the player I became. @wrendoug thank you for being the Christ led leader you are, and for looking out for us. The fact that I will always be able to say we are National Champions is a treasure. ADTF.
Then @TarletonBase, I couldn’t write a more fitting final chapter. Thank you for allowing me to play my game and give me the chance to play alongside the best brothers I could ask for at the Division 1 level. Playing at the highest level of college baseball seemed so far out of reach, and y’all gave me the opportunity to do so.
To God, thank you for speaking to me after I cussed you out. You for sure have a sense of humor because you smacked me out of that. The grace and favor you have shown me throughout my baseball career is unfathomable. I say baseball saved my life, but it was you who worked through baseball to save me. I love you and thank you.
If you made it this far I’m almost done, but thank you for staying.
It’s time to say “see you later” to baseball for me. I had the most fun a kid could ever dream of. Baseball has changed me for the better, provided me with lifetime brothers, allowed me to meet so many great mentors and coaches, rebuild my relationship with God, and has saved my life. Until next time.

Mistakes are part of the game.
You have to recover quickly from a bad at bat or an error because more and more plays are coming.
Take it.
It’s over.
You cannot recover the situation.
Put it behind you.
